Although they may just be more introverted or want to focus on their tasks at hand, astrology could also have something to do with it. These air signs prefer their alone time, don't like to make new connections, and can definitely come off as impersonal. Aquarius will not be the one to say hi to a stranger on the street or chat with people in the grocery store check-out line. They have a reputation for being aloof but if you're already in their circle you might get to see their friendly side—but don't count on it.

"Bear in mind that they are very set in their beliefs and are especially known for a 'my way or the highway' kind of mindset," Rebecca Schmidt, astrologer at Trust the Effing Process says. When you aren't in agreement with them or try to change their point of view, you'll most likely end up getting the cold shoulder.

Jill Loftis, an astrologer and founder at Nuit Astrology, explains that they typically have a combative and competitive nature, so they'll do anything to get what they want and don't care who gets hurt in the process. "Their temper can give them a vibe of 'stay away,'" she says.

It's easier for them to be hostile and unfriendly, so they don't have to deal with trivial things that get in the way of achieving their goals.

Since Pisces typically live in their own little world, it can be difficult for them to form connections with other people. They are also incredibly sensitive, so they don't want to put themselves out there for fear of getting hurt.

"They might act like they don't care because they actually do care deeply; they often keep an arms-length between them and others," Loftis says. They're also introverted and can appear to be closed off, so their cycle of seeming unfriendly takes a while to break.

Virgos are service-oriented people and love to figure out the solution to any problem. However, their attentiveness and their need to be right about everything might mean that their willingness to help is coming from a selfish place rather than a friendly one.

"If you think that Virgo is judging you, you're right; they are," Loftis says. They are more critical of themselves though. So while it could be them not liking you, it could also be their own inner turmoil that portrays them as unfriendly and hostile.

If you get in the way of a Capricorn when they're working to accomplish something, you can bet their demeanor will turn icy pretty quickly. They might acknowledge you and offer some kindness if you help them get ahead, but once they're ready to move on to their next project they won't have any problem putting you on the back burner.

"They are ruthless and very structured, and if things go wrong then their moods may take a turn for the worse," Schmidt says. These earth signs aren't going to let you ride their coattails and while they'll be cordial and professional, they most likely won't invite you out to post-work happy-hour.

Capricorns are laser-focused and don't let distractions get in the way of all their success. Plus, they like to work alone which can make them seem even more unfriendly.

Secretive and sneaky, Scorpios are the unfriendliest zodiac sign. They keep to themselves and won't grant you access to their life until they know for sure that they can trust you. They're ruled by Pluto, the planet of destruction and can cause chaos based on their facial expressions or body language alone. They have zero tolerance for fluff, Loftis tells Best Life, meaning they don't have time for casual or light interactions.

"Scorpios are known for being cold, but if you cross them you better watch out, as their words and actions or lack thereof (yes they can easily ice people out) will sting," Schmidt says.

They tend to feel power over others and won't give you so much as a passing glance if they're determined to do something.
