Twin Farms

Birch Forest Vermont

Set in a circa-1795 farmhouse that once belonged to a Nobel Prize-winning writer, this posh all-inclusive hotel isn't just steeped in history. It also happens to be Vermont's only luxury, five-star property. With cozy countryside vibes and a pinch of classic New England charm, it's an ideal spot for some good old fashioned pampering. And that's just what you'll get here, thanks to lavish amenities like feather beds, soaking tubs, and fireplaces.

Speaking of activities, the resort features on-site tennis courts, a spa and fitness center, and bicycles for exploring the local area. To boot, Twin Farms boasts its own private ski trails, so you dodge the crowds (and the waiting lines) when you want to hit the slopes—as well as an on-site pond for canoeing and swimming.

But what really sets Twin Farms apart is the service. Staff is willing and eager to fulfill any request you may have—whether that means organizing a special proposal, making dietary accommodations for your meals, or making sure your room is stocked with your favorite local beer or wine.

Pro tip: Consider requesting a stay in the 19th-century Log Cabin for an extra special experience.
