Without naming any names, there are some celebrities who fit the category of "oversharers" on social media and there are some who keep things pretty private. One actor who is definitely in the latter category is Julia Roberts. She's very much on the A-list, but when you think about it, there's a lot you don't know about her, including that she now has three teenage children.
Roberts made headlines when her children were born in the early 2000s. The actor and her husband, cinematographer Danny Moder, welcomed twins Hazel and Phinnaeus in 2004 and son Henry in 2007. Moder and Roberts have been married since 2002, after first meeting on the set of The Mexican, in which she starred and he was a cameraperson in 2001.
Now, they've been together for two decades. Read on to find out more about Roberts and Moder's family today. And to take a look at another famous family, See Celine Dion's Son All Grown Up at 20.
All the kids are teens now.
Danny Moder/InstagramHazel and Phinnaeus are now 16 and Henry is 13. In a 2018 interview with Oprah Winfrey for Harper's Bazaar, Roberts spoke about how difficult it can be to understand teens in the 21st century.
"It’s different than when I might have said to my mom, 'Mom, you don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today,' even though she probably did," Roberts said. "Danny and I really don’t know what it’s like to be a teenager today. Sometimes my kids ask me things and I just say to them, 'I’m going to say no, and I’m going to look into it because I don’t even know what we’re talking about.'"

Roberts joined social media at her kids' suggestion.
© Danny Moder / InstagramRoberts decided to join Instagram in 2018 because her kids thought it would be cool, she told Winfrey. Plus, it was a way to understand their perspective of the world. She recounted one experience in which her niece, actor Emma Roberts, posted a photo of them together and the comments on it hit Roberts hard.
"The number of people who felt absolutely required to talk about how terrible I looked in the picture—that I’m not aging well, that I look like a man, why would she even post a picture like this when I look that terrible!" Roberts said. "And I was amazed at how that made me feel. I’m a 50-year-old woman and I know who I am, and still my feelings got hurt. I was sad that people couldn’t see the point of it, the sweetness of it, the absolute shining joy of that photo. I thought, 'What if I was 15?'"

Her kids haven't always understood her fame.
Danny Moder/InstagramIn a 2017 interview with CBS This Morning, Roberts said that one of her children once asked her if she's famous. She responded, "Well, you know, I guess, there are people that know me that I don’t know." Her child then asked if she was more famous than Taylor Swift. "No, I am not," she said.
Roberts has said that her fame doesn't affect her everyday life with her family as much as people might expect. "I think people confuse the idea of having this fantastical job with somehow being a fantastical individual," she said in a different 2017 interview with Harper's Bazaar. "Like, 'How could you possibly make breakfast?' Well, hunger is a good motivator!" She also said that she shops for her own groceries, no problem. "It’s a thing of make-believe that I can’t buy toilet paper, because of course I can," she said.

Roberts' husband tends to post photos sparingly of their kids.
Danny Moder/InstagramWhile Roberts is on Instagram, she rarely shares photos of her children. But the whole family can sometimes be spotted on her husband's Instagram. For Mother's Day in 2019, Moder shared a photo of all five of them and wrote in the caption, "That pretty mama in the middle. We love you so much."
In 2017, he posted a photo of Roberts and the kids together when the children accidentally interrupted their parents' getaway for Roberts' 50th birthday. "No Lovers birthday weekend is complete without a surprise bumping into your kids in a surf shop," he wrote. "50 is better with 5."
He also posted the photo above that shows Hazel in 2019. "The Day Of the Daughter," he wrote. "So lucky this girl is my daughter... and that she takes these awesome selfies on my phone. Staying gnarly."
