Emma Roberts Just Shared Her Son's Full Name and It Has a Special Meaning

"Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right," the actor wrote on Instagram.

Last year was a tough one, but Emma Roberts is thanking 2020 "for getting one thing right." The American Horror Story star welcomed her first child with her partner, actor Garrett Hedlund, just before the new year, according to E! News. On Tuesday, Jan. 12, she shared the news herself for the first time on Instagram and posted her first photo of her son, also revealing his full name. "Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right," Roberts wrote in her Instagram caption. "Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund." While Rhodes has Hedlund's last name, his middle name is Roberts' own last name, just without the "s."

In the photo, Roberts and her son match in orange—she's wearing a mini dress and orange sandals and he's wrapped in an orange blanket.

Roberts was on the cover for the December/January issue of Cosmopolitan and became the magazine's first pregnant cover star. In the article, Roberts spoke about her pregnancy, her experience learning about her fertility when she was diagnosed with endometriosis, and freezing her eggs to be safe.

"It sounds cheesy, but the moment that I stopped thinking about it, we got pregnant," she said. "But even then, I didn't want to get my hopes up. Things can go wrong when you're pregnant. That's something you don't see on Instagram. So I kept it to myself, my family, and my partner, not wanting to make grand plans if it wasn't going to work out. This pregnancy made me realize that the only plan you can have is that there is no plan."

In an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Oct. 19, Roberts revealed that her mom, Kelly Cunningham (pictured here to the left), accidentally revealed the news that she was pregnant before she was ready to share it with the world. "I was keeping my pregnancy pretty low-key, but unfortunately my mother has Instagram. Mothers and Instagram, it's a bad combination. She spilled the beans," Roberts told Kimmel, explaining someone on Instagram congratulated her mom on her pregnancy and she confirmed it. "She was like, 'Thank you so much for the well wishes, we are so excited.' My friends were sending me screengrabs, it was like unbelievable. And then when I said to her, 'Mom, you revealed my pregnancy,' she goes, 'Emma, you announced it.' And I said, 'No I didn't, that was a tabloid.' She was like, 'Oh, that wasn't clear.'"
