This Is the Most Overrated TV Show of the Past Year, Survey Says

It turns out some people regret their binge-watching choices.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought plenty of changes to daily life with it, but a sharp increase in time spent on the sofa was certainly one that almost everyone could relate to. The new forced downtime created a surge in streaming movies in shows, with Netflix alone seeing an increase of 4 million in subscribers between January and March of 2020. But even with seemingly endless options to pick from, there's one show that stood out as the most overrated of the past year, according to a new survey. Read on to see which series people regret watching the most.

A recent poll conducted by OnePoll on behalf of streaming service Tubi asked 2,000 Americans about their viewing habits over the past year. Results revealed that 70 percent of people are now watching more TV than before the pandemic—but 31 percent said they only watched because they felt peer pressure over social media to keep up with what everyone was streaming.

"Movies and TV shows served as a much-needed escape and form of entertainment over this past year," a Tubi spokesperson said in a statement. "Though as we see the light at the end of the tunnel, Americans are likely to be more discerning around how much they're spending on subscriptions once life returns to normal."

In fact, some are so fed up with what they feel is time wasted on shows they didn't like, they might give up some services entirely. The survey found that 32 percent of respondents were planning on getting rid of at least one subscription when life goes back to "normal," with 46 percent saying they would be saying goodbye to Netflix, 34 percent planning on ditching Hulu, and 34 percent saying they would be dropping Amazon Prime.

But the survey also took note of which shows people thought didn't deserve the hype they got when they were released. Read on to see which show people thought was the most overrated from the past year, according to a survey conducted by OnePoll for Tubi.
