Days after Elvis' only child passed away, CNN reported that the Los Angeles County Coroner had made a statement about Lisa Marie's cause of death.

"Presley was examined on Jan. 14 and the cause of death was deferred," a representative told CNN. "Deferred means that after an autopsy, a cause of death has not been determined and the medical examiner is requesting more investigation into the death, including additional studies. Once the tests/studies come back, the doctor evaluates the case again and makes the cause of death determination."

Lisa Marie had been rushed to the hospital on Jan. 12 after suffering cardiac arrest at her home. News of her death that same day was shared by a representative of her mother Priscilla in a statement. "Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie," the statement reads. "They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time."

On Jan. 27, TMZ reported that Priscilla had filed legal documents "asking a judge to set aside an amendment to Lisa's 2010 trust." This amendment reportedly removes Priscilla and Lisa Marie's business manager Barry Siegel as trustees of Lisa Marie's estate and names her children Riley and Benjamin Keough in their place. (Benjamin died by suicide in July 2020 at age 27.)

Per TMZ, the challenge "question[s] the validity and authenticity of the amendment" by alleging a number of errors, including the misspelling of Priscilla's name.

A Feb. 25 report from Page Six claims that Riley is on a "carefully curated" press tour for the Amazon Prime miniseries Daisy Jones & the Six, and that journalists have been warned that the 33-year-old star will not answer questions about her grandmother or her late mother.

Page Six also reports that an anonymous source who was close to Lisa Marie told the publication, "Riley and Priscilla are not talking. Their relationship is changing, that is true … it’s just so sad. This is the time Riley would really need her grandmother." The source also said that Riley was "seeing a new side" of Priscilla after the challenge to her appointment as trustee of her mother's estate.

According to the outlet, a hearing is scheduled for April 13 in Los Angeles, and Riley has "a big legal team behind her."
