Then there are those people that we equally dislike, but we can't quite put our finger on why. As it turns out, it could be because of when they were born. It sounds harsh, but astrologers agree that certain horoscopes are more despised than others. Read on to learn what the most hated zodiac signs are, from a little bit loathsome to downright detested. If you know one thing about Taurus, it's that they're the most stubborn sign of the zodiac, and it's this tendency that lands them on our list. But it's important to remember that this behavior isn't coming from a bad place. "Taureans are inherent comfort-seekers and enjoy their alone time," notes Clare. So if you feel that they're not having a good time at your party or that they never want to do anything exciting, it's probably just their longing for solitude and peace.

Virgos are well-known perfectionists, and though that could get annoying, it's the fact that they expect others to live up to their standards that makes others hate them. "Virgos have no problem being critical. They are fussy and judgmental," says author and astrologer Lisa Barretta. "You can just feel them silently assessing everything that is wrong with you before they spit out their so-called corrective criticism." And don't even think about criticizing them in return.

A lot of this negativity comes from their own insecurities and anxieties, notes Clare. "As an over-thinking mutable sign… The issues they have with themselves can often be displaced onto others, making them cold and cynical in their worst moments."

As they are ruled by fiery Mars, Aries is considered the zodiac sign with the worst temper and the worst habit of hogging all the attention—not exactly a likable combination. "They can be somewhat unpredictable, and anything can set them off, making others feel like they are walking on eggshells around them," shares Danelle Ferreira, astrology content editor at Svana Design. And if you try to upstage them, "they will have no problem tripping you up," says Barretta.

Some people, though, stay away from Aries not for fear of their aggression but out of resentment. "They also appear fun, attractive, and spontaneous which, when combined with their unabashed assertiveness, can often lead to jealousy," explains Clare.

The sign of the twins, Geminis can be considered two-faced, notes Ferreira. "They have a dual nature where they are curious about every side of a situation, which can often make their loved ones feel that they are siding with the enemy." Clare adds that "their airy and flighty temperament as a mutable sign can also create an image of Gemini being unpredictable." So, even if they do have your back, you may not feel confident trusting them.

This super-sociable sign also loves to gossip and will use any juicy tidbits they can as party fodder. "They will repeat everything you said and it's usually to the people you least likely want to know your biz," Barretta concurs. Best to keep your secrets to yourself.

Leo might be the life of the party, but their exceptionally extroverted ways can rub people the wrong way. "Leos can be a lot of fun, but really? Do we always need their drama?" poses Barretta. "They have a way of making everything about them that goes beyond being narcissistic." This is especially true if they're not in the spotlight.

Clare agrees and explains that their attention-seeking ways make them a lot of enemies. "Ruled by Mars, Leo's fiery, brash temperament can translate as arrogant and showy to many people. They constantly strive to be the life and soul of the party and will happily step on toes in order to do so." If you're fine taking a backseat to this sign, you may be able to tolerate them more than others.

There wasn't much debate that this is the most hated zodiac sign. "Scorpios are moody and cagey characters," states Clare. "It can be impossible to get a gauge of their emotions, and they are manipulative when they want to be." Their calculating ways come from their deep intuition. This can be a good thing if you're a loved one, but if you've crossed a Scorpio, "they either get what they want or they get even," warns Barretta.

What makes people more turned off by this mysterious sign is how long they'll hold a grudge. "Most other signs, with a few exceptions, can learn to let go of a conflict for the greater good of a relationship, but Scorpios hold their pride to such a high degree that it can be incredibly challenging to reconcile with them after a fight," explains Clare. It could be best to keep the Scorpio in your life at arm's length if you fear their intensity.
