How One Dad Is Fighting For Men's Room Changing Tables

Given that taking care of a baby is still largely viewed as a woman's job, men's bathrooms don't typically include changing tables. As a result, men who take on the task of changing a diaper in a public place often find themselves having to uncomfortably squat in a stall, as indicated by this photo of Florida-based father Donte Palmer, which went viral.

The photo prompted other men to show their squatting-while-changing-diapers struggle with the hashtag #squatforchange.

And the movement caught the attention of musician John Legend, who recently shared a video announcing that he's collaborating with Pampers to install 5,000 changing tables in public men's restrooms.

Finally, squatting be gone!

After his initial photo went viral, Palmer and his wife launched a website called Squat for Change, where they sell merchandise, list upcoming events, and accept donations. According to the website, their mission is to create "a world of equity where changing your baby is a man thing too, just like moms."

The organization's goal is to make baby changing tables the norm in men's rooms across the country by the year 2021, and they are inviting people to join the movement with the hashtag #lovethechange, which is currently trending on Twitter.
