Cole Sprouse Says Jennifer Aniston Made His "Friends" Role "Quite Difficult"
The child actor opened up about why he had such a hard time working with the A-lister.
Jennifer Aniston may be America's sweetheart, but one of her former co-stars recently admitted that working with her wasn't as easy as it seems. During a Jan. 19 interview on Drew Barrymore's eponymous talk show, Riverdale star Cole Sprouse, who played Ross' son Ben on Friends, admitted that it was "quite difficult" to work with Aniston on the sitcom for a very adorable reason. Sprouse revealed that he had a major crush on Aniston as a kid.
Sprouse admitted to Barrymore that he had a crush on Aniston as a kid—and that his feelings for the star made working together more than a little awkward. "It actually made it quite difficult to work in front of her, I must admit," Sprouse said. "I would stammer a lot and I'd forget my lines." Sprouse says that other people on set were quick to make light of his crush.
While Sprouse didn't mention whether or not Aniston was made aware of his feelings for her, there were plenty of people on the Friends set who knew exactly what was going on.

The Riverdale star says that things would be different if they worked together today.
Despite having more than a little difficulty acting with Aniston as a kid, Sprouse was confident that he could maintain his professionalism if the opportunity to act together ever presented itself again.

Sprouse has admitted to being "in love" with Aniston in the past.
This isn't the first time Sprouse has publicly admitted his childhood crush on Aniston. "I was so in love with her," he revealed during a 2017 interview with the New York Post. "I was infatuated."
And while Sprouse said in the same interview that he hadn't seen his Friends co-stars since filming with them, he'd be eager to reconnect. "It was a really wonderful experience.
