Shailene Woodley Just Posted a Rare Video Gushing About Aaron Rodgers

The actor is thrilled about her fiancé's new gig.

When Aaron Rodgers casually mentioned that he was engaged during his NFL MVP speech in February, it came as quite the surprise to fans. The Green Bay Packers quarterback hadn't even publicly revealed that he was dating someone. But, not long after, it was confirmed that his fiancée is none other than actor Shailene Woodley. The two reportedly started dating in the summer of 2020, but kept their relationship private for several months. Only recently have they started to be more open about things, and on Monday, Woodley posted a video on Instagram about Rodgers' guest hosting stint on Jeopardy!.

In the video on her Instagram Story, the Big Little Lies star compliments Rodgers before talking about how he'll be hosting the game show and encouraging his followers to tune in. The video was filmed in a car, with Rodgers at the wheel and their dog in the backseat. The NFL player jokes about how his Jeopardy! episodes will have a little of everything, from "laughs" to "mystery."

She gives him a lot of praise before her "important announcement."

Rodgers and the other Jeopardy! guest hosts were announced in February, but Woodley wanted to make sure her Instagram followers knew that his series of episode would be starting Monday, Apr. 5.

"So, you guys, I have a very important announcement to make," she says while also giving Rodgers driving directions. "This guy, right here. This super sexy, super attractive, just shaved his neck this morning, has a little man bun growing, oh yeah, rocking my new shades. This guy is hosting Jeopardy! tonight! So you can watch it and you should watch it."

"What's going to happen?" Woodley asks Rodgers of the show. He responds by referencing the 1987 movie The Princess Bride.

"There's some laughs. Maybe some tears," he says. "Excitement. Mystery. It's like The Princess Bride: fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, miracles, true love! You never know. Check it out."

Also on her Instagram Story, Woodley reposted an Instagram from the website The Ringer about how Rodgers said he would be interested in hosting Jeopardy! permanently. In an interview with the site, Rodgers was asked if he would consider giving up football to host.

"I don't think I'd need to give up football to do it," he said. "They film 46 days a year. I worked 187 this year in Green Bay. That gives me, eh—[pauses]—178 days to do Jeopardy! So I feel like I could fit 46 into that 178 and make it work. It would be a dream job for sure, and I'm not shy at all about saying I want the job. That's how I went into it. I want an opportunity to be in the mix."

In response to this, Woodley wrote on her Instagram Story, "He's also phenomenal at math."

After Rodgers' first Jeopardy! episode aired, he and Woodley did a nine-minute Instagram Live video in which she asked him questions fans sent in. He answered questions about his experience hosting the show and about winning Celebrity Jeopardy! in 2015, but a lot of fan comments on the video are about how cute Rodgers and Woodley are and how happy they seem together.

While these Instagram videos were the first time the actor and athlete posted about each other on social media, they have mentioned each other in recent interviews.

Woodley was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February and confirmed their engagement. "Yes, we are engaged," she said. "But for us, it's not new news, you know? So it's kind of funny. Everybody right now is freaking out over it and we're like, 'Yeah, we've been engaged for a while.'" She also said, "I never thought I'd be engaged with somebody who threw balls for a living."

As reported by Entertainment Tonight, during an Instagram Live on the Zenith Watches account in March, Rodgers opened up about the relationship. "I'm recently engaged, so been enjoying that part of my life," he said. "Obviously that's the best thing that's happened to me in the last year."

Rodgers may be hosting for now, but This Is Who Fans Want to Succeed Alex Trebek as Host of Jeopardy!.
