Jake Ryan From "Sixteen Candles" Has a Model Daughter. See Her Now.
The actor may be done with Hollywood, but his daughter's career in the entertainment biz is just heating up.
Eighties heartthrob Micheal Schoeffling—best remembered as Jake Ryan from the teen comedy Sixteen Candles—was beloved for his good looks and crush-worthy characters. In 1987, at the height of his fame, he married model Valerie Robinson and four years later, in 1991, the actor and model shot his final film. That same year, his daughter, Scarlett Schoeffling, was born.

While her famous dad fled the spotlight for a quieter life as a wood shop owner in Pennsylvania, Scarlett seems most comfortable in front of the camera. She has recently modeled for Neutrogena, Estée Lauder, and Ralph Lauren, just to name a few of her high-profile campaigns.

Thirty years after her father left Hollywood, Scarlett is now pursuing roles on the big screen. She recently appeared on an episode of Billions and worked on the film Blackjack: The Jackie Ryan Story alongside David Arquette and Twilight's Ashley Greene. Around the time she shot Blackjack, she revealed in an Instagram post that she was attending acting school at the famous Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York.

In 2018, Scarlett shared this funny story, which she says explains her current looks. "I used to have a gap between my front two teeth. My Mom said that Madonna had a gap in her front teeth. My Mom was mad at Madonna because she flirted with my Dad on the set of a movie," Scarlett revealed in a 2018 post. "So she took me to a dental surgeon and had my gap removed. Now my front teeth overlap because they don't have space. This could have all been avoided if Madonna didn't flirt with my Dad."
Her parents may shy away from the limelight these days, but that hasn't stopped Scarlett from posting sweet family photos. In one recent post, she shared her dad's old GQ cover, captioning it "Dad's fashion moment," as well as another pair of snaps of her with her parents, captioned "dad, mom and one sweet little angel." Under a third image in black and white of her parents' wedding day, Scarlett's Instagram followers re-pledged their teenage love for the actor as Jake Ryan and gushed over his daughter's uncanny likeness.
