Tauruses are pretty peaceful people, but when it comes to their popularity, their stubbornness can come back to bite them. "As a fixed sign, they aren't willing to be flexible or adaptable in social situations, which can make them seem too boring, predictable, or disinterested," says Ryan Marquardt, astrologer and founder of Ryan's Astrology.

These earth signs have an opinion about everything—even when they aren't well-versed in the topic—and will stand firm in their beliefs. They aren't open to hearing alternative points of view, which can definitely give people a bad impression.

Taurus can also be too rigid with its interests and routines to bother keeping up with the changing social tides and trends, so it can be hard for them to find common ground with other people, Marquardt tells Best Life.

While they love to care for others, "their water element can make them deeply sensitive to their surroundings, and they may feel overwhelmed by their emotions or the emotions of those around them," says Rachel Clare, a professional astrologist at Mystic Sense.

They have a need to be needed and liked, but can come off as clingy or overly attached sometimes—even with people they hardly know.

Pisces may be unpopular because people often fail to notice them. They spend a lot of time in their own little world and might not be fully in the present moment.

"The constant introspection is usually a great artistic trait, but for many people who don't share this quality, it just comes across as aloof and strange," says Marquardt. These fish may seem approachable, but a lot of times people struggle to figure out what to say or discuss with them—which can leave both people feeling unsettled.

"Pisces have a funny way of letting their thoughts and words drift off into completely different subjects mid-sentence—it's hard to connect with someone who seems so detached," says Marquardt.

Virgos are known for being more practical than anyone else, and as an earth sign, they're also incredibly grounded. They like to be right and they'll let you know at any chance they get—but no one likes a know-it-all.

"They're focused on results and tend to have their act together, but this can make them seem a bit too serious or uptight to some," says Clare. Plus, their fixed modality means they are not big on change. They don't like branching out of their comfort zone and won't be the ones trying to make new friends.

With Mercury as their ruler, the planet of communication and intellect, Virgo has a gift for organization, but might seem distant or too analytical at times. "They can get caught up in perfectionism, which doesn't win them any favors in the popularity department," says Clare.

As a water sign that's known to have a bit of a darker side, Scorpio can be a bit much for some people. Their intensity can be, well, intense, especially if you don't really know them.

"Scorpios also tend to keep their true feelings hidden and can be perceived as secretive or guarded, which can make it difficult for others to get close to them," says Clare. Because of this they don't exactly fit the popular bill. More often than not people are probably running away from them rather than towards them.

Aquarius is an enigma because they can genuinely get along with various types of people, but they'd much rather operate by themselves. It's their eccentric (not always easy to understand) personality and isolating tendencies that make them the most unpopular zodiac sign.

Marquardt mentions that if they have to work in groups, they'll be pleasant, but also give off an energy that screams "I'd rather not be here though." While they aren't necessarily rude, people aren't lining up to make connections with them either.

These folks also have a tendency to rebel against anything conventional—and sometimes people just want a sense of normalcy. Aquarius wears their weirdness with honor, however, and don't need other people to like them.
