Cancer, the first water sign of the zodiac, is known for being incredibly emotional and supportive. If you're looking for a ride-or-die type of relationship, Cancer will be in your corner 100 percent. They go hard for the people they care about and will double down if anyone they love is being threatened.

That being said, Cancers are also creatures of habit. They'll fight for you till the end, but they're going to use their own methods. Ryan Marquardt, astrologer and founder of Ryan's Astrology explains that they like having a comfort zone to rely on. "They stick with their familiar go-to's because it feels like a safety net in a world that's constantly changing," he says.

Cancers like to maintain their old tricks, but it can keep them stuck in the past if they aren't willing to be flexible or adapt to a new situation that life throws at them.

Not only are Scorpios a fixed sign, which makes them very set in their beliefs, they are also the second water sign, so they feel things deeply and intensely. They always think they are right and standing their ground is something they do best.

"They can be extreme and even combustible and will likely eat you alive if you try to make them change their point of view," Rebecca Schmidt, astrologer at Trust the Effing Process says.

Scorpios are also fiercely independent and calculating thanks to Mars, their ruling planet. They'll always defend their opinions or anything else they deem valuable. "They can be very stuck in their ways and are unlikely to compromise or even to be open to others' ideas," Schmidt says.

Obsessiveness, perfectionism, and the way they scrutinize everyone and everything are a few things that come to mind when thinking about Virgo. These people want things done right (which is usually their way, if you ask them) and they want them done right the first time around.

There is no trial and error with these folks and any mistake can make them feel like a failure. Schmidt mentions that they critique any flaw they come across and won't be able to let things go.

These earth signs are stable and stuck in their ways especially when it comes to making plans, achieving their goals, or finishing up a task at hand. They won't fall victim to distractions and they know what they want and how to get there, but they also want things so badly that they might get irrational and out of hand when trying to achieve them.

Aquarius's quirky nature and progressive way of thinking means they're always coming up with new ideas on how to better themselves. But even though their ideas are innovative, they are unyielding in doing things their way.

They're a fixed sign that gets stubborn about its uniqueness, Marquardt tells Best Life. Rather than listening to others, these air signs get trapped in a cycle of figuring out their next steps because they're always so focused on what's to come. Sometimes they force their thoughts on people a little too aggressively and it creates distance for those around them.

Aquarius are adamant about letting their individuality show and they aren't going to hide themselves away if people can't get on board with their vision.

Don't even think about coming between a Capricorn and their work. Saturn, their ruler, is associated with tasks, rules, and responsibilities, so it's no wonder this sign likes to stick to what they know. "They can be strict, structured, and are not comfortable or open to change," Schmidt says.

These earth signs are very reliable and resilient, but they are not open to adapting or changing up their flow. Marquardt explains that they are cardinal signs, meaning they have strong initiative and don't just sit around and wait for things to be done. "They can be forceful when it comes to defending their stances as well," he says.

Capricorns are driven for success and if being stuck in their ways means they'll reach their desired result, then they're going to keep following their beloved routines.

While all of the fixed signs can be uncompromising, Taurus is the zodiac sign most stuck in their ways. "If anything tries to tilt their sense of security, they will dig their heels into the ground until you give up trying to change them," Marquardt says.

These earth signs ultimately miss out on new experiences because they'd rather stick with what they already know. "They justify it by saying they don't need anything else, but Taurus is meant to experience the fruits of life, so it's funny that they're always so determined to cut themselves off from having more," Marquardt says.
