In the late '80s and throughout the '90s, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid were an A-list couple. After first meeting on the set of Innerspace, the couple began dating in 1988 and were married for 10 years, from 1991 to 2001. But while the relationship came to an end, Ryan and Quaid are forever connected through their son, Jack Quaid, who they welcomed in 1992. That was 29 years ago, and these days, Jack is a successful actor himself.

Jack got his start acting in The Hunger Games.

His first professional acting role came in 2012 when he appeared in The Hunger Games as Marvel, a bad-guy rival of lead character Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence). Speaking to Interview in 2011, he said of the role, "When I got cast, I was told that people would be spitting on me in the streets."
Since then, he's had many film, TV, and voice acting roles, including the romantic comedy Plus One, the HBO series Vinyl, the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks, and his current series, Amazon Prime's The Boys. Jack will also star in the upcoming sequel Scream (the fifth in the series).
His role on The Boys, which debuted in 2019, has brought him more attention. The show takes place in a world in which superheroes are big celebrities but are also corrupt and abuse their power. Jack plays a member of the vigilante group who tries to take them down. For his role on the show, he was recently nominated for an MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Hero. When he shared the news on Instagram, he wrote, "This is a gigantic cruel prank right? If not: Thanks, @mtv! This is so cool. Never been nominated for anything involving my face before."

He and his mom gush about each other on Instagram.
On Mother's Day 2021, Jack's post in honor of his mom included a series of photos of them through the years, including a rare one of his sister, Daisy True Ryan, who Ryan adopted in 2006. "My mom is literally the best. Don’t @ me. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, @megryan!" he captioned the post.
Ryan has also supported Jack on her own Instagram. Alongside an image noting that The Boys was at 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, she wrote, "JACK!!!!!" And, she captioned poster for his rom com Plus One, "JUST KILLING IT... SO PROUD!!"
He saw his mom's most famous movie for the first time just three years ago.

"I finished it, and I immediately started crying because of how proud I was of her," Jack said. "I called her immediately. I was like, 'I'm so sorry I haven’t seen it til now.' And she's like, 'It's okay. I've seen it like one time.' I'm like, 'You've seen that movie one time?' If I was in that movie it'd be like an hour-and-a-half-long gif constantly running. I would never stop watching it."

He's in a long-term relationship with another actor.
Ron Adar / Shutterstock.comJack has been dating his girlfriend Lizzy McGroder since 2016. The two often share posts on about each other on social media. In a 2019 interview with Glamour, Jack said that McGroder was involved in sketch comedy, which is something they have in common.
In the same interview, Jack talked about a vacation they took. "I just went on an amazing vacation with Liz, my girlfriend, a year ago right before I started season one of The Boys," he said. "We went to Mexico, and I had never done vacation in another country with a significant other. It was really great and romantic."
The couple also starred together in a campaign for the brand Frances Valentine. Ryan posted an image from their photoshoot on Instagram, and called the photo "just heaven."
