Even with their faces plastered on movie screens and magazine covers across the country, many celebrities are still subject to the occasional mix-up. Some pairs of A-listers are notorious for looking alike and other sets we couldn't help but notice share quite a few features. To wrack your brain, we've highlighted 17 pairs of celebrity lookalikes you have to see to believe. Good luck telling these doppelgängers apart!
1 | Margot Robbie and Samara Weaving
Images via ShutterstockWhen Ready or Not star Samara Weaving shot onto the scene in 2017, she drew a lot of attention for looking like another Australian Hollywood darling, Margot Robbie. In speaking with The Sunday Times in 2018, Weaving said, "She's a great actress. I'm flattered that people mistake me for her. That's a great compliment." However, Weaving also warned, "I hope that people realize pitting two women against each other is just silly."
Up-and-coming actressEmma Mackey, of Sex Education fame, has also received an onslaught of comparisons to Robbie, but similarly doesn't seem so keen on the correlation. “It's lovely to be compared to Margot Robbie, but mostly I’d rather people focus on the jobs that we’re both doing rather than what we look like,” Mackey told The Independent in early 2020.
2 | Mila Kunis and Sarah Hyland
Images via ShutterstockWhen actresses Mila Kunis and Sarah Hyland met for the first time in 2010, they bonded over being each other's doppelgängers. As Hyland revealed in a 2014 interview with InStyle, Kunis joked that "sometimes she pretends she's [Hyland] because it makes her feel young." In response, Hyland, who's seven years younger, asked if she could pretend to be Kunis, and she agreed. So, if you think you see either of these celebrities out and about, you may want to do a double take.
3 | Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan
Images via ShutterstockSpanish actor Javier Bardem and Seattle-born Jeffrey Dean Morgan are one of the most confused celebrity lookalike duos out there. It's all good, though: In interviews, Morgan has said that he doesn't mind being compared to a man as handsome as Bardem.
4 | Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry
Images via ShutterstockThough there is no denying their physical similarities, Zooey Deschanel once said she's not a fan of the common Katy Perry comparisons she gets. “It's a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. I used to get, 'I heard you were out at such-and-such club drinking whiskey!' [when] I was at home watching TV. I think we lead very different lives,” she told MTV in 2009.
5 | Susan Sarandon and Sigourney Weaver
Images via ShutterstockThese two movie stars often get confused for each other, despite a significant height difference: Susan Sarandon is 5'7" and Sigourney Weaver is 6'. Thankfully, neither woman seems to mind the comparison. In 2014, Sarandon even jokingly wrote an essay titled "Sigourney Weaver Is My Badass Alter-Ego." And while accepting an award at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in 2016, Sarandon said, "Sigourney may have left the stage, but we are two different people. I have taken credit for Alien many times, and she's signed autographs for me."
6 | Will Ferrell and Chad Smith
Image via ShutterstockBeloved comedian Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith love to poke fun at their uncanny physical similarities. In 2014, the pair appeared in matching outfits on The Tonight Show for a drum-off. And in 2018, they had a rematch, the proceeds of which went to Cancer for College.
7 | Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard
Images via ShutterstockWhen even your father confuses you for your doppelgänger, you know the resemblance must be significant. And that's exactly what happened with actress Bryce Dallas Howard. In a 2019 interview with the Associated Press, Jessica Chastain revealed that Howard's father—famous director Ron Howard—once passed her in an Apple store and thought she was his daughter. "He turned to someone [and] he goes, 'I think I just saw Bryce,'" she said. "We look so much alike." The two get a kick out of their commonalities, and have even joked about it on Twitter.
8 | Jennifer Lawrence and Bella Hadid
Images via ShutterstockJennifer Lawrence is one of the most beloved actresses of her generation, while Bella Hadid is one of the most beloved models of hers. Though the former gives off girl-next-door vibes while the latter seems untouchable, physically, their resemblance is undeniable. In 2015, Hadid confirmed in an interview with Seventeen that she gets the comparison constantly, even though she "never saw it."
9 | Dax Shepard and Zach Braff
Images via ShutterstockEven Dax Shepard's wife Kristen Bell is adamant about his resemblance to Scrubs actor Zach Braff. In 2018, the actress went so far as to use the Face Swap app on a picture of the two men just to prove that they look almost identical. When Braff tweeted it, Shepard replied, “I mean, it almost appears that there was no swap there."
10 | Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice
Images via ShutterstockIt's impossible to deny that Victoria Justice and Nina Dobrev share some major physical similarities. Though these stars have yet to acknowledge their likeness, they have crossed paths a couple of times: once when Justice presented Dobrev with a Teen Choice Award, and again at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in 2015.
11 | Jeff Bridges and Kurt Russell
Images via ShutterstockAlthough these two actors didn't look as much alike earlier in their careers, Kurt Russell and Jeff Bridges have grown to look increasingly similar with age. The salt-and-pepper facial hair certainly helps!
12 | Zoe Saldana and Thandie Newton
Images via ShutterstockOn The Graham Norton Show in 2018, Westworld star Thandie Newton revealed that Victoria Beckham once mistook her for Zoe Saldana during a SoulCycle class. And she's not the only one! While on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2019, Saldana said her mom still thinks she's on Westworld. Even the actress's own flesh and blood can't tell them apart!
13 | Jeremy Renner and Nathan Fillion
Image via ShutterstockNathan Fillion appears to have quite a few celebrity lookalikes—so many, in fact, that he even reviewed each of them in 2014. We think Jeremy Renner is the closest clone, and Fillion seems to agree. But Jason Bateman is a close second.
14 | Rachel Bilson and Kaia Gerber
Images via ShutterstockWe already know Kaia Gerber looks like her supermodel mom, Cindy Crawford. However, after looking at Gerber and television star Rachel Bilson side by side, we're convinced they may be related as well, even though Bilson is 20 years her senior.
15 | Rob Lowe and Ian Somerhalder
Images via ShutterstockWith their equally fierce jawlines, piercing blue eyes, and subtle stubble, actors Rob Lowe and Ian Somerhalder have a lot in common physically. Lowe might be 14 years older, but that doesn't detract from the fact that the two celebs could be brothers.
Another Lowe lookalike is Dacre Montgomery of Stranger Things. Fun fact: Montgomery’s character on the show, Billy, was actually inspired by Lowe’s character of the same name in 1985's St. Elmo’s Fire.
16 | Brittany Murphy and Lili Reinhart
Images via ShutterstockIf you've ventured into the dark corners of the internet, you may have seen the conspiracy theories about late Clueless actress Brittany Murphy being reincarnated as Riverdale star Lili Reinhart. When asked about it, Reinhart told BuzzFeed in 2017, “There are a lot of pictures of us side by side where we look crazy-alike.” If Hollywood makes a film about Murphy, we know who they'll be casting!
17 | Natalie Portman and Millie Bobby Brown
Images via ShutterstockBoth Natalie Portman and Millie Bobby Brown rose to fame at age 12: Portman in Léon: The Professional, and Brown in Stranger Things. However, child stardom is not the only thing these two have in common—they also look eerily similar even though they're 16 years apart.
Although Portman said in an interview with MTV in 2018 that she “was so flattered [by the comparison] because [Brown] is absolutely adorable and so talented,” she made sure to tell Brown when she met her, "You’re your own magical person.” And in 2018, Saturday Night Live put the actresses' similarities to good use by casting Portman as Eleven in a hilarious Stranger Things 3 sketch.
