The Most Hardworking Zodiac Sign, According to Astrologers

These diligent folks don't get easily distracted, and they won't stop until the job is done.

Working hard or hardly working? Some people can barely sit still for five minutes to focus on a task, while others won't get up until the job is done. Those in the former group might prefer to spend a day off lazing on the couch, but more ambitious folks will use the extra time to catch up on work, chores, or their side hustle. According to astrologers, how diligent one is could have to do with when they were born. Read on to discover the six most hardworking zodiac signs, from above-average achievers to top-of-their-class dynamos.

Being that they're the most scattered zodiac sign, you might be surprised to see Gemini on this list. However, according to Charlotte Kirsten, founder of the astrology blog Typically Topical, "their hard-working nature comes from being frazzled, likely from taking on too many things at once." This overly eager nature means they often say "yes" a little too much, "resulting in long bouts of intense work, self-doubt, and serial procrastination," explains Kirsten.

While Gemini's work ethic might not be the most productive at the end of the day, Shannon Aganza, an astrologer at Four Moons Spa, does note that they are great in team settings, as they're ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication.

Mysterious and secretive Scorpio likes to know everything about everyone, many times so they can use it for their own good. "The intensity of Scorpio is found not only through the depth of their interactions but also within the probing of what needs to happen," explains Aganza. They’ll spend hours researching a coworker to figure out how to one-up them for a promotion.

But don't think that Scorpios only use their intensity for selfish reasons; they are extremely driven when it comes to completing tasks and won't let anyone or anything get in their way. "This sign is a true energetic powerhouse," says Kirsten.

4 | Taurus

Tauruses are known for being reliable, and that translates to getting their work done. Aganza says this sign is usually "taking their time and moving forward with an extremely methodical approach." But don't mistake their slower pace for a lack of ambition. "They are determined and persistent and have sustenance to get it done," adds Aganza.

Ansley Echols, the founder of Purpose Vibes Astrology, explains that Taurus' disciplined approach is due to their luxury-loving earth nature. "They can envision the life they want and the way it’ll make them feel, and they will work as hard as needed to achieve that vision." They'll passionately work at their jobs with their eye on that upcoming elegant vacation.

3 | Aries

Nothing can stop these born leaders from accomplishing their goals. Kirsten likens Aries to "the hard-working, passionate, and slightly demanding office boss." She explains that because they're ruled by "straight-shooting Mars," they know exactly what they want and how to go after it. "These audacious rams thrive on opportunity and will take anything that even inches them closer to achieving their dreams and ambitions."

Aries' only issue is that the same incredibly high energy that makes them productive can cause them to have a short attention span. "They’ll work hard for what they desire now, but as things slow down, they’ll get bored and want something else," Echols notes.

2 | Virgo

Virgo is a "hard-working, data-driven, and analytical Earth sign," according to Kirsten, who calls them "the true busy-bees of the zodiac." And while these intellectuals accomplish a lot, they don’t need recognition like other proud signs (ahem, Leo). Aganza says they are "the behind-the-scenes micro-worker who keeps the entire ecosystem in check, but no one knows it is them who did it."

However, it’s hard to get Virgo to step away from their work because they’re such perfectionists. "[They] love diving deep into the nitty gritty details of a research paper or complex problem [and] are happiest when seeking out-of-the-box solutions," says Kirsten. If you’ve ever tried to get your Virgo significant other to log off for the evening, you know how difficult disconnecting can be.

1 | Capricorn

It’s no surprise that these dedicated go-getters are as hardworking as they come. "Masters of self-discipline, the level-headed sea goat infuses strict, paternal energy into everything they do," says Kirsten. Capricorns will never miss a deadline (in fact, they're more likely to submit work early), and will not settle for anything less than perfect. Kirsten explains that this is because they're ruled by Saturn, the planet of responsibility, which makes them "obsessed with order and commitment."

But do know that if you have a Capricorn in your life, you may play second fiddle to their career ambitions. They're confident in their ability to reach CEO status or get rich, and they are "hard-wired to achieve high success in whatever area of life they choose to pursue," adds Echols. If they're working towards a goal, don't expect them to pay you much attention until they've successfully gotten there.
