The Most Romantic Moments from The Royal Wedding

From start to finish, our hearts were aflutter.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was, without doubt, the most romantic wedding in recent memory. All the drama of the days leading up to the nuptials fell away and the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex made everyone who was there—and the million around the world watching—believe in the fairytale. We were riveted. Here are our picks for the most romantic moments of the day. And for how the crowd reacted, don't miss The Best Expressions Of the Royal Wedding Guests.

The first sight of Meghan sitting the back of the royal car with her mother, Doria Ragland, on the way to Windsor reminded us of what a modern day fairytale the wedding really was.

When the bride stepped out of the car in her elegant Givenchy gown that she paired with Queen Mary's Filigree Tiara and the 7 year-old Mulroney twins, John and Brian, helped unfurl the dresses 16 foot long train, it was truly a Cinderella moment.

The sight of Prince Harry and Prince William in their frock coat uniforms of the Blues and Royals dazzled (and we were thrilled to see we were right about the uniform — and the beard!). Harry wore only four medal ribbons: K.C.V.O, Afghanistan, the Queen's Golden Jubilee, and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, along with his pilot's wing badge to honor the military who had such a profound impact on his life. Meghan was a romantic vision as she walked through the stunning archway decorated with abundant white peonies with her little attendants behind her. She looked beautifully regal with the sunlight streaming into the church behind her.

We swooned when Harry, seeing his bride for the first time, took her hand and whispered to her: "You look amazing. I missed you … I'm so lucky." And then he bit his lip. The Internet went wild.

When the positively besotted bridegroom tenderly lifted Meghan's veil and she looked up at him with pure love, we melted.

As the couple was taking their vows, the camera caught Meghan's mother looking wistful and teary. We cheered when Prince Charles gallantly offered her his hand to escort her to the back of the church where the two parents joined the couple to sign the registers.

The cello performance by 19-year-old prodigy Sheku Kanneh-Mason was positively transporting. His soaring music filled the chapel.

When the newlyweds stood underneath the flower-filled doorway of St George's Chapel in glorious the sunshine and they gave the throngs of well-wishers and millions of television viewers what they had been waiting for—the first kiss and a married couple.

As the newlyweds made their way through Windsor on their way to the wedding breakfast, the enormity of it all and the outpouring of affection of the crowd seemed to hit Meghan all at once. When she saw all the people who were standing along the procession route and lifted her hand to her heart overwhelmed at what she saw, we knew exactly how she felt.
