The No. 1 Sign You're "Getting Older," According to People in Their 40s

People over 40 say this is that defining moment when you know you're not a spring chicken anymore.

Aging is an inevitable part of life, but it's still easy to be in denial about getting older. Sometimes though, whether it's a teenager's joke or a technological struggle, something minor can smack you in the face that makes you sigh and utter the phrase, "I'm getting old."

A recent survey, conducted by OnePoll on behalf of American sunglass brand Foster Grant asked 2,000 Americans aged 40 or older about what makes them feel like they're getting older. Although the survey found on average that people in the U.S. feel seven years younger than their actual age, there are some silly signs you're getting up there that are just impossible to ignore. Read on to discover the pivotal moments that survey participants called key markers of "getting old."
