Booking your stay at a hotel means you want to get the best bang for your buck. You'll probably look for certain amenities, like free WiFi, comfy beds, and tasty room service, in order to decide what makes the price-per-night worth it. If you stay at any of Hilton's 5,400 hotels across the country, you can take advantage of different levels of service, whether you've booked a luxury stay on your honeymoon or are making quick overnight stop on a road trip. But no matter what your room is like, the hotel chain just announced that it's allowing customers to take advantage of something special, and Hilton Honors members are being offered an exciting bonus on top of that. Hotel guests are often focused on one amenity in particular.
Jasminko Ibrakovic / ShutterstockWhile traveling, many of us just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy our time off. If you're just looking to unwind or are preoccupied with work meetings, your first stop isn't likely your hotel's fitness center or pool. As it turns out, however, that's where many Hilton guests end up.
A recent survey done by Hilton found that a staggering 98 percent of respondents are "prioritizing wellness activities" while traveling, according to a press release. With that in mind, the hotel chain is introducing some additional amenities to capitalize on this interest at its U.S. locations.
Hilton wants to improve the "wellness experience."
BrandonKleinPhoto / ShutterstockOn Oct. 3, Hilton announced the launch of a new "industry-first partnership" with fitness brand Peloton. Per the press release, Hilton is the first hospitality brand to offer these bikes at all hotels in its portfolio, helping to provide "a more holistic wellness experience." Peloton manufactures an indoor-cycling bike, as well as a treadmill, which connects to the internet and allows you to participate in live-streamed and previously recorded workouts.
“At Hilton, we understand the importance of a reliable and friendly stay that infuses wellness through all facets of the guest experience, including spa programs, hotel design, guest room amenities, and food and beverage,” Matt Schuyler, chief brand officer for Hilton, said in the latest release. “This unique and exciting partnership with Peloton—a brand so many of our guests know and love—accelerates an important part of that equation, allowing us to enhance the stay with an innovative approach to fitness.”
By the end of 2022, all 5,400 Hilton-branded hotels will have at least one Peloton bike, the company said. Locations that are already equipped with a bike also have the opportunity to add another, CNBC reported.
New bikes are going to start popping up in the next few weeks.
ThomasAFink / ShutterstockHilton owns 18 brands that you might recognize and stay at, including Canopy by Hilton, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection by Hilton, DoubleTree by Hilton, Embassy Suites by Hilton, Hampton by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, LXR Hotels & Resorts, Motto by Hilton, Signia by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Tempo by Hilton, Tru by Hilton, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, as well as a timeshare tier called Hilton Grand Vacations.
“As the connected fitness category creator, we are constantly innovating on ways to meet our Members and prospective Members where they are, and that includes during busy travel seasons,” Betsy Webb, global vice president of Peloton Commercial, said in the release, adding that data shows over 1.6 million Peloton rides were completed at hotels in 2022 alone.
"We are thrilled to be working with Hilton, allowing us to meet the needs of our current Members, while also enabling potential new Members to experience Peloton for the first time," Webb added.
The bikes will be rolled out in the coming weeks, per CNBC, and the move is part of a larger effort put forth by Peloton's CEO Barry McCarthy. In August, McCarthy announced impending store closures and layoffs starting in 2023, as the company migrates to a mass-marketing approach.
Hilton members can access a special perk.
JL IMAGES/ShutterstockOn top of the benefits that a Hilton Honors membership gets you, the deal with Peloton makes the perks that much sweeter. According to the press release, from Oct. 3, 2022 through January 1, 2o23, members can take advantage of a 90-day free trial subscription to the Peloton app.
You can participate in these classes with or without a Peloton bike, as you can often adapt them for use on a standard stationary bike, or try out one of the app's many bodyweight training classes. Before the start of next year, Hilton Honors members also receive "preferred pricing" if they choose to invest in select Peloton products.
