This week, Campbell, who began modeling at 15, proved she's still rocking runways decades later. At the Michael Kors Fall 2021 Show on April 20, Campbell helped mark the 40th anniversary of the brand. The virtual show was an "Ode to Broadway" with models transforming West 45th Street in Manhattan into their very own catwalk. Campbell closed the show in a black, floor-length sequined gown paired with a tailored overcoat. The model took her signature strut down 45th Street and into the iconic Shubert Theatre, where she passed the other models sitting in the aisles to join Kors on stage for the finale.

Also this week, Interview magazine published a new conversation between Campbell and designer Marc Jacobs, where they discussed the 30 years she's spent in the modeling industry. In the interview, Jacobs asked Campbell what she thinks the best part of getting older is. "Knowledge," Campbell replied. "Understanding we're never too old to be wrong. We're never too old to learn. We're works in progress and trying to better ourselves. We come here for the time that we come, and we want to do the best we can while we're here because one thing we do know is we'll be leaving."

Campbell says the physical aspects of aging are the hardest for her.

Although there is a lot of wisdom and humility that comes with aging, Campbell said there are also some things that become more challenging. She told Jacobs that the worst part of aging is the physical changes that come with it. "You need to make sure you're stretching, you're toning. You can't eat all the things you used to eat," said Campbell.

However, she added that maintaining her energy levels helps keep her young. "Energy is so important. I'm 50, but I don't act like I'm 50," said Campbell. And for more celebrity news delivered straight to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter.

After 30 years in the modeling industry, Campbell has seen it all. She told Jacobs that she feels that some serious reform is needed so that models have more control of how their images are used. "One of the things that's really come to surface right now for me is that we don't have any control over our image as models, and that's really sad," Campbell said. "There's going to have to be a change in our industry where they protect us as models better than they have because we cannot just sign our image away and not have any ownership over it."

Campbell said she felt like the topic was going to come up or sooner or later and it's been weighing on her. "I'm basically speaking about this for the first time. I'm not trying to make any headlines, but it's something that's been on my mind heavily, and it needs to be unraveled and really gone through so that it benefits everyone," said Campbell. "It's not going to change overnight, but it needs to be changed."
