Restaurant Server Says These Are the Best and Worst Celeb Tippers in New Video

Find out who's an "angel" and who supposedly tipped a single penny.

Restaurant servers working in Los Angeles are likely to have their fair share of celebrity clientele. And some of them have taken to social media to share some of their more memorable experiences dealing with famous diners. In a recent TikTok, a food service worker named Miranda (@mirandathescary) reveals the best and worst celebrity tippers she's served at an unnamed establishment.

"No, I will not be telling you where this happened," the TikTok user says in the video. "No, I will not be telling you where I worked or all that stuff. Nothing personal, just whether or not the tip was good and bad."

Miranda shares her own experiences, as well as the experiences of some of her coworkers, so these accounts are personal—and may have involved catching some of these stars on a bad day. That said, read on for the TikToker's round-up of famous tippers, from a celebrity she refers to as an "angel" to one she claims only tipped a single penny on their check.

The Best: Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell

In her video, Miranda is effusive about Patrick Stewart and his wife, singer Sunny Ozell.

"These are my favorite celebrity regulars of all time: Sir Patrick Stewart and his lady, Sunny," she proclaims. "These two are angels. They love to talk. For as famous as Sir Patrick Stewart is, he's such a normal person and so sweet … These two, class acts. Thumbs up."

The Best: Steven Spielberg

Miranda also gives a positive review to acclaimed filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

"Really good tipper," Miranda said of the director. "This guy was so nice. He was with his wife and his family. Awesome. Tipped 30 percent, I believe. Really chill guy. Awesome dude. Thumbs up."

The Best: Jerrod Carmichael

Miranda's only other positive review went to comedian Jerrod Carmichael, who hosted this past Golden Globe Awards and put out a well-reviewed Netflix special last year.

"The most generous tipper of all time that I have ever encountered, celebrity or not, is Jerrod Carmichael," she says in her TikTok. "He is also so, so nice. I didn't really know who he was before I met him at my old job, but he is such, such a nice guy. Oh my god. The last time I served him, he tipped $300 on a $500 tab."

The Worst: Dominic Monaghan

Moving on to the worst, Miranda calls out Lost star Dominic Monaghan, who she says she encountered earlier the same day she made the video.

"He tipped 10 percent on his bill—which is bad," the social media user claims. "I don't want to hear any [expletive]. Ten percent is bad … He didn't even look at me or address me as a person. Extra thumbs down for that one."

The Worst: Max Landis

Miranda notes, "I don't know if you can even call this guy a celebrity," in regard to filmmaker Max Landis, who is the son of director John Landis. She also calls him her "least favorite person [she's] ever waited on—celebrity or not." The server describes him as a "bad tipper" and claims that he "asked for a four-top table just for himself."

"I could go on and on about this guy," she says.

Miranda also alludes in her video to sexual abuse allegations against Landis, which he responded to in an essay.

The Worst: Ben Schwartz

Actor Ben Schwartz also received a negative review from Miranda.

"This guy gave us only $5 on a $150 tab," she claims of the Parks and Recreation star. "Which was really surprising, because he seems like a good guy. He seems nice. I don't know. It wasn't like he had a bad experience or anything—in my opinion. Didn't seem like he did. But yeah, [expletive] tipper. Thumbs down."

The Worst: Olivia Thirlby

Actor Olivia Thirlby also did not fare well in the video, with Miranda claiming that the Juno actor didn't tip the staff at all.

"She gave us nothing," Miranda said. "She tipped zero."

The Worst: Rami Malek

Miranda says she had considered herself a fan of Bohemian Rhapsody actor Rami Malek, which is why she was so disappointed when she was told that he tipped another server a single cent.

"This one, ladies and germs, really, really breaks my heart," the TikToker explains. "Apparently, he tipped someone that I know only a penny when he went out for drinks. And I've been in love with this man for a long time. Truly tragic."

Someone in the comments noted that Malek has a twin brother and that the other server may have confused them. "Honestly that's what I was hoping!" Miranda replied. "I've seen his twin in person too and it's hard to tell them apart."

The Worst: Justin Chatwin

Miranda was similarly bothered that Justin Chatwin didn't leave her a tip, since he was another of her celebrity crushes.

"Speaking of men that I was in love with who are bad tippers, this is Justin Chatwin," she says in the video. The creator goes on to say that the Shameless actor came to the restaurant with someone she assumed was his girlfriend and a dog. She also notes that he seemed spacey. "This guy was not on this planet, and also he tipped nothing," Miranda sums up the interaction. "Absolutely nothing."
