The World's Best Guacamole Recipe—Video

How to whip up this delicious dip like a true Mexican chef!

We may live in a divided world at the moment, but there's at least one thing on which every human being on the planet would agree: guacamole is the best!

Whether you're celebrating Cinco de Mayo, hosting a game-day get-together, or simply kicking back with a delicious dip for a night of "Netflix and chill," there is nothing quite as tasty, as fun, and as satisfying as whipping up your own bowl of the greatest ancient Aztecian culinary invention ever conceived. But with so many different recipes floating around out there, the question remains: how to make guacamole the best way?

Well, if you crave maximum flavor and authenticity, you've come to the right place. As it just so happens, I've spent a lot of time in Mexico City—where, long before I became a chef and sommelier, I worked as a singer and backup dancer for the iconic Mexican star Luis Miguel—and I came away with my ultimate rendition of the greatest Mexico-style guac recipe ever.

Below you'll find my full shopping list of ingredients and a handy video for picture-perfect execution. Remember: the key to next-level guac is making it extra limey with a healthy helping of salt—and don't forget your hot sauce for that extra kick.

If you're washing your chips and guac down with wine, I recommend pairing it with a citrusy Spanish Albariño. After all, Latin flavors always mix together perfectly. ¡Salud!
