See Zooey Deschanel on Her "Property Brothers" Boyfriend's New HGTV Show

This dynamic duo takes on home renovation in their onscreen debut.

One of Hollywood's most unlikely but adorable pairs, actor Zooey Deschanel and Property Brothers star Jonathan Scott are making their onscreen debut together. Jonathan and his twin brother, Drew Scott, are embarking on the second season of Celebrity IOU on HGTV. And lucky for Jonathan, he has a close relationship with the perfect A-lister for the premiere episode. Celebrity IOU is a show where Hollywood stars express their gratitude toward someone in their lives by surprising them with home renovations with the help of the Property Brothers. According to People, in Season 2's first episode, Deschanel gets down and dirty with the boys to surprise her best friend Sarah with an amazing home renovation.

Drew was impressed that Deschanel stuck around for most of the renovation to give the brothers a hand. "We sort of thought, we would get into a bit of the work, Zooey would be there to help with it, but then she would leave it to us to handle it," he said. "But she's getting so excited—she keeps coming back to the construction site to do more and more work with us. So it's nice to have all hands on deck." In the video clip, Deschanel is assisting and joking with the two brothers.

"Have you and Zooey built anything before?" Drew asks his brother.

"We've built tons of stuff," Jonathan replies, before describing Deschanel's type-A work ethic. "She is very meticulous, so she's the one who'll follow the steps and rules [and] make sure everything is there."

The brothers' twin telepathy kicks in and the two, in tandem, say Jonathan tends to be more in the "needs instructions" camp. So, for Deschanel and Jonathan, it seems opposites attract.

"We work very well together," Jonathan told People. "She's a goofball, same as me, and we're total nerds. So having fun and laughing a lot but accomplishing something at the same time … it was just a blast."

After Jonathan spent years third-wheeling with Drew and his wife, Linda Pham, filming this episode was Drew's turn to be the third wheel, a position it seems he's taken to pretty well. "These two are so adorable," Drew says to the camera. "Makes me sick."

"I kind of felt like I was third-wheeling on that entire renovation!" Drew told People. But he also added that he and his wife are both "really happy to see Jonathan happy."
