Jennifer Aniston Says She Still Wears This One Thing From "Friends"

When the show ended, she stole one piece she always wanted from Monica's closet

Seventeen years after the show's finale, the Friends cast is back together once again. On May 27, Friends: The Reunion will premiere on HBO Max and bring all six stars back to TV screens. Ahead of the special, the cast spoke to People to reflect on their time filming the beloved series, including the items they took from set when it was all over.  Some of the actors revealed that they kept small items to remember the show by, and the piece of memorabilia Jennifer Aniston stole from the Friends set is the most practical of them all.

In the interview, Aniston shared that she took a piece of clothing that she still wears today—surprisingly, it wasn't from her fashionable character Rachel Green's closet. Read on to see what it was that Aniston kept and to find out what her co-stars held on to.

When the stars were asked about their favorite thing that they stole from the set, Aniston immediately answered, "A dress that Monica wore that I went into her line of clothes, and I pulled it out, and I still have it and wear it to this day."

Describing the dress, she explained, "It's tiny little flowers with a black lace V-neck and little, like—what are those called?—cap sleeves, but just a little, like, ruffle."

Courteney Cox (Monica) added, "It's probably gone in and out of style like four times." Aniston corrected her, "And it will always be in style!" As for Cox, she said hat she didn't take anything but regrets that now.

Lisa Kudrow said she didn't "steal" anything from set, but that she has all of her character Phoebe's jewelry. In fact, she was wearing one of Phoebe's rings for the interview. She also had her security badges from set on hand to show her co-stars. "Wait, did we have security badges?" Aniston asked. "How did they let me on? I don't think I ever had one." Kudrow and Cox assured her that she did.

Kudrow also has a cookie jar that Matthew Perry gave her.

As Kudrow explained, Matthew Perry (Chandler) gave her a white and green clock-shaped cookie jar from the set. She had thought that he "asked permission" to take it. But, according to Perry, "I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it, and I gave it to Lisa Kudrow, because she at one point looked at it and thought it was a real clock."

Kudrow has laughed about that embarrassing moment before. During a 2020 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she explained that during a scene she had to say the line "Ooh, I better get going," but when she realized she didn't have a watch on, she pointed to the clock cookie jar instead. "As the words were coming out, I went, 'Oh good, there's a clock.' I gestured to that [cookie jar], and said 'Ooh, look at the time! I got to get going.'" Perry made fun of her for it afterward, even though it definitely seems like something Phoebe would do.

"I just stole a little placard," David Schwimmer said. "I think it was a Professor Geller placard from my office at the museum." He joked, "That and the couch."

Schwimmer also got pranked with something that Matt LeBlanc (Joey) took. "I stole an 'I love Friends' license plate frame and put it on Schwimmer's car, and it took him a week to realize," he said.
