Trader Joe’s is taking 2025 by the horns. The grocery chain has big plans to expand its footprint in eight states, including multiple storefronts cropping up in Washington, D.C. On the Inside Trader Joe’s Podcast, TJ’s marketing vice president Tara Miller said the company is growing "at a pretty good rate right now" and " at a pace that we can sustain." That said, the company is super selective about which cities and neighborhoods it chooses to join—factors like traffic patterns and population growth play a huge role in the scouting process.
"We'd like to be in neighborhoods all around the country, but it takes time. We're not going to rush it because rushing it would result in stores that don't live up to our expectations or quite honestly, to our customers' expectations,” explained Miller.
But come 2025, Trader Joe’s has plans to open at least 13 new stores across the country. See if TJ’s Mandarin orange chicken and cookie butter spread is coming to your neighborhood here.
