These Real-Life "Aristocats" Are Blowing Our Minds

Now all they need is a Thomas O'Malley.

The 1970 Disney film The Aristocats is a beloved story about a regal cat named Duchess (Eva Gabor), who lives in a swanky mansion in Paris with her three adorable kittens, Berlioz (Dean Clark), Toulouse (Gary Dubin), and Marie (Liz English). When their evil butler kidnaps them and abandons them in the French countryside, they meet a smooth-talking alley cat named Thomas O'Malley (Phil Harris), who helps them find their way home.

Well, meet the real-life "Aristocats," who have become the talk of the internet.

When Shelby Sewell-Lopez first adopted Duchess in July 2018, she was very frail and riddled with parasites and hernias. But "through all of the rehabilitating, she kept her calm demeanor and a beautiful cat emerged," Sewell-Lopez told Bored Panda.

Shortly after Duchess was adopted, Sewell-Lopez found her in a closet with what she initially thought was a mouse. Turns out, it was a tiny black kitten, followed by a white one and a ginger one.

Naturally, she named them Berlioz, Marie, and Toulouse, because they are dead-ringers for the "Aristokitties." Seriously, it's amazing how much they resemble the kittens in the movie; even their sexes match!

When Sewell-Lopez posted photos of them on Facebook, they quickly went viral and made everyone's day.

There's also a "bonus" kitten, a while male with beautiful blue eyes, whom they fittingly named "Blue."

"Although Blue is not an official Aristocat, he is the most affectionate and definitely steals most of the attention," Sewell-Lopez said.

She also said that they are quite spoiled—Sewell-Lopez even often brings Duchess's food and water directly to her.

But really, how else would you treat a duchess?

To celebrate their first birthday, Sewell-Lopez did a little photoshoot in which the kittens wore bows similar to those in the movie, and it's just too cute.

Somebody call Disney, because we are ready for this live-action remake!
