Jon Stewart Said This Was the Worst "Daily Show" Guest Ever

This British actor was Stewart's least favorite guest by far.

Beloved late-night host Jon Stewart facilitated many interviews during his 16-year tenure as the host of The Daily Show. Stewart interviewed a slew of stars from prolific actors to essential government officials. However, one guest stands out among the rest as the worst guest Stewart ever had on the show: actor Hugh Grant. To see what Stewart had to say about why he disliked Grant so fervently, read on, and for more hosts who aren't holding back, Oprah Says This Was the Worst Guest She Ever Had.

During a sold-out fundraiser chat between fellow late-night host Stephen Colbert and Stewart in 2012, Colbert decided to ask some of the hard questions. When Colbert asked Stewart who his least favorite guest of all time was, Stewart admitted it was Grant. "And we've had dictators on the show," the Daily Show host added.

It seems it wasn't just one incident that led Stewart to grow sour towards Grant, but rather a culmination of Grant's overall attitude throughout his visit to the studio. "He's giving everyone **** the whole time, and he's a big pain in the ***," Stewart recalled.

Additionally, Grant complained to the show's staff about the clip they used to promote his movie Did You Hear About the Morgans? Stewart remembered Grant indignantly asking, "What is that clip? It's a terrible clip." However, the clip was supplied by Grant's own publicist. Stewart quipped that perhaps he should have made a better movie then.

The late-night host was adamant that the actor would never be asked back on the show. The news eventually made its way to Grant, who repented via Twitter.

"Turns out my inner crab got the better of me with TV producer in 09. Unforgivable. J Stewart correct to give me kicking," Grant tweeted humbly.

To be fair, Grant is not the only rough-around-the-edges talk show guest. To see which other guests hosts couldn't stand, keep reading, and for another host who put his foot down, discover The One Guest Anderson Cooper Banned From His Show.

Chelsea Handler, comedian and host of Chelsea Lately, is pretty easy going, which is why it's so surprising that there was a guest she holds a grudge against. Handler told Grazia, "The only person who was a pain in the *** was Russell Brand."

In true diva fashion, Handler said, "He stopped all of our production schedules because he needed three espressos before he could even come on for his interview." While Handler did have the star on three times, she said she would never make the same mistake again. Frank Sinatra Jr., the son of legendary singer Frank Sinatra, was Hoda Kotb's pick for the worst guest ever on Today. While playing "Plead the Fifth" on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kotb's former Today co-host Kathie Lee Gifford asked her, "Who do you think was my least favorite guest of all time? And I bet it was yours, too."

Kotb responded without hesitation. "It's Frank Sinatra Jr. It was the worst guest we've ever had, bar none," she said. "He had a book he was promoting, and he didn't want to talk about it, so he didn't say anything. So weird." If you haven't seen it, the interview is truly as cringe-worthy as they let on. Conan O'Brien's interview with filmmaker Abel Ferrara got off to a rough start, when Ferrara literally fled the set. And while O'Brien's segment producer was able to get the guest back, the subsequent interview was bizarre, with Ferrara slouching and mumbling vague responses.
