Kamala Harris' Stepson Is Calling Out "SNL" for This Sketch
Cole Emhoff felt a little left out during the latest episode.
On Saturday, Mar. 27, Saturday Night Live alum Maya Rudolph returned to host the show, and she naturally brought out her Kamala Harris impression. In a skit called "A Kamala Harris Unity Seder"—the episode aired on Passover—Rudolph played Harris as if she were hosting a Seder for her family, Joe Biden, and a few politician guests. But it was who wasn't invited that got one member of Harris' real family talking. Harris' stepson, Cole Emhoff, was not included in the sketch.
The Vice President has two stepchildren, Cole and Ella Emhoff, through her marriage to Doug Emhoff. But while Ella was featured in the sketch and played by cast member Chloe Fineman, Cole was not included. The 26-year-old spoke out about just that on Twitter.

Cole posted a rare tweet about being left out.
The day after the episode aired, Cole tweeted, "@nbcsnl how you gonna leave me out my own fam dinner…" with the eyes emoji.
Cole does not often use Twitter. There are only five tweets on his account, and one of those is a retweet of a photo that Harris' niece, Meena Harris, posted of her, Cole, and Ella posing together at Harris and Biden's inauguration.
Cole and Ella's mother, Kerstin Emhoff, also responded to the sketch. She quoted her son's tweet, and added, "Hmmmm @ColeEmhoff and I def got left out of that skit @nbcsnl. That's not the Doug we know!" Kerstin and Doug were married from 1992 to 2008.

The sketch gives Ella and Doug some interesting traits.
In the sketch, Doug is played by special guest Martin Short. His Second Gentleman is very shy and scared of strangers, but repeatedly gets into a more sensual mood when Harris tells him to calm down and pretend they're alone.
As for 21-year-old Ella, she's portrayed as being very hip and does a runway model walk to get around the room. "You may think I look insane, but I assure you I'm the most normal looking girl in Bushwick," she says, referencing the Brooklyn, New York neighborhood where she lives.

There's a probable reason why Cole wasn't featured.
Ella made waves at the inauguration thanks to her fashionable coat by Miu Miu. She then went on to model for the line Proenza Schouler during New York Fashion Week in February, after being signed by IMG Models in January. She's also currently a student at Parson School of Design.
Cole, meanwhile, hasn't made such a big public splash, so there isn't as much to poke fun at as there is with Ella's modeling and love of fashion. Cole keeps things pretty private, though he does share some photos on Instagram. According to his LinkedIn, he works for the production company Plan B Entertainment.

Cole and Ella both get along great with Harris.
It's widely known that Cole and Ella call Harris "Momala". Harris joined their lives when Ella was about to start high school and Cole was about to graduate.
"I think for all of us, it was love at first sight," Cole said of meeting Harris in a conversation with Glamour. "We had an incredible evening at one of my favorite restaurants—The Reel Inn. We had a long drive down the Pacific Coast Highway, sharing music. I got to know her first on a much more personal level—her music tastes, her cooking, how she interacts with Doug, which was hilarious. She would just be ribbing him. It was perfect."
In a May 2019 essay for Elle magazine, Harris wrote about meeting her now-husband's kids. "Cole and Ella could not have been more welcoming," she shared. "They are brilliant, talented, funny kids who have grown to be remarkable adults. I was already hooked on Doug, but I believe it was Cole and Ella who reeled me in."
