This Is the Most Popular Song to Have Sex to, Research Shows
In the words of Marvin Gaye, let's get it on.
Americans were already having less sex, but 2020 has officially killed the mood. Between social separation, the death of date nights, and extreme stress, the pandemic has put a damper on bedroom activities for many of us. If you're looking to get down and dirty with your partner, you may need a little extra help sending sensual signals. And that is where a good playlist of sexy songs comes in.
Luckily, lingerie retailer Pour Moi has provided a little inspiration. In a June 2020 study, they sorted through Spotify data and analyzed over 300,000 suggestive songs to figure out which ones inspire sex the most. By searching for tracks tagged "sex playlist," "baby-making," and "shagging," they rounded up the sexiest songs of 2020—or at least, the ones that are getting the most action. "The Hills," The Weeknd
Kicking off the list is The Weeknd with "The Hills." This sex jam goes in some surprisingly dark directions but it brings the seduction A-game. And if you're wondering when to put that playlist on, This Is the Best Time of Day to Have Sex, According to Science.
People have been getting down to the Ginuwine song "Pony" since 1996—and they're not going to stop anytime soon. If you can still listen to this slow jam without thinking of Lil' Sebastian from Parks and Rec, it's still fair game in 2020.
"Slow Motion," Trey Songz
Not to be confused with "Slow Motion" by Juvenile, "Slow Motion" by Trey Songz is a sultry song that first came out on Valentine's Day of 2015 (nice touch, Mr. Songz). The video even treats its audience to a steamy sesh between the singer and his then-girlfriend, model Tanaya Henry. "Wicked Games," The Weeknd
Brooding, mysterious, and only sometimes depressing, The Weeknd has the low-key sex song market on lock. He bares his soul on every song, and that falsetto in "Wicked Games" is like butter. "Don't," Bryson Tiller
In the song "Don't," Bryson Tiller wants you to leave your man for him. Listen to it often enough and you might just. And speaking of affairs, check out This Is the Age When Married Men Are Most Likely to Cheat.
"Neighbors Know My Name," Trey Songz
This smooth R&B classic came out in 2010 and sounds like it could've been made in the '90s, but people are still getting down and dirty to it in 2020. Timeless! And for more fun, helpful, and sometimes sexy content delivered straight to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter.
"Birthday Sex," Jeremih
Sure, it's a little on the nose, but Jeremih's song "Birthday Sex" should come in handy at least once a year. Put it on a playlist for your sexiest celebrations.
"Earned It," The Weeknd
The Weeknd is clearly the king of songs to get you in the mood, and this one happens to be from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. Throw in a music video that's essentially a burlesque show and you've got a recipe for one of the top sex jams of all-time.
"Often," The Weeknd
Seemingly, you could throw on just about any song by The Weeknd and it would turn up the heat in the bedroom. This song in particular is the perfect antidote to a dry spell: Put "Often" on repeat and speak it (sing it?) into existence.
"All the Time," Jeremih
