17 Stores With Insane Spring Markdowns

Save money and stock up at all the best spring sales.

With spring on the horizon, there are many things to be excited about. Of course, it's wonderful to think about how wretched winter weather will soon make way for clear skies and sun, but more importantly, the start of the new season means that stores will imminently be hosting big blowout sales to get rid of their old inventory. Naturally, some stores host better sales than others—and to help you on your money-saving journey, we've compiled a list of the stores with the best spring markdowns. So keep calm and shop on!

*Note: Since deals are always coming and going, some of the sale prices shown in this article may no longer apply.

Head over to 6pm.com and the first thing you'll see is a giant banner advertising an end-of-season clearance sale, in which all items are at least 60 percent off. (And that's on top of the already steep savings the website offers on luxury brands.) Hidden amongst the many items on sale include a $278 Juicy Couture ruffle midi dress for almost 90 percent off and a $198 Paige one-shoulder top for 85 percent off.

Old Navy

If you're buying full-price items at Old Navy, then you're doing something wrong. The Gap sister store is well-known for holding sales that deliver deep discounts, especially at the end of each season. Sales don't last long, but if you can get to the store before March 3, then you can take advantage of the current promotion of either 30 percent off your entire purchase or 40 percent off if you have an Old Navy card. Those massive markdowns are enough to bring this spaghetti strap floral dress down from $35 to $17 and these lobster-embroidered khakis down from $30 to $19.

3
Yoox

Yoox

Yoox, the parent company of luxury retailer Net-a-Porter, is a place where fashionistas go to find their favorite designer brands. And if you're a stylish someone who loves shopping and saving, then you're in luck. Yoox often holds great sales on some of the most hard-to-find designers; at the time of writing, for instance, a large majority of its inventory is marked down at up to 80 percent off. (Think $1,950 jackets for $390 and $1,300 boots for $273.)

4
Dick's Sporting Goods

Don't sleep on the deals at Dick's Sporting Goods. Despite what its name might lead you to believe, the store actually sells a lot more than just baseball bats and golf bags—and in the springtime, they're known for offering great deals on outerwear. At the time of writing, for instance, coats and down jackets from top brands like Patagonia and The North Face were up to 50 percent off. You might not need an insulated jacket for the spring and summer months, but buying a jacket for next winter this far in advance will save you boatloads in the long run.

5
Macy's

Whether you want to refresh your spring wardrobe, or stock up now for next winter, Macy's is the place to go. At the time of writing, sales going on at the store include up to 40 percent off North Face jackets, up to 75 percent off sitewide, and up to an extra 25 percent off select items with the code REFRESH. Every May, the store holds their annual Anniversary Sale, which in the past has featured everything from 50 percent off Patagonia pants to more than 40 percent off Brooks and ASICS running sneakers.

7
Gap

If your goal this season is to stock up on basic tees and boyfriend jeans, then Gap should be one of the first stops on your spring shopping trip. Both online and in stores, the bargain-friendly brand constantly has coupons and promo codes available that bring prices down significantly. For instance, from February 26 to March 2 the store offered up to 50 percent off on everything—no codes or coupons required—plus an extra 20 percent off online using the code NEEDNOW. And on Gap Factory's website, customers were able to get an extra 20 percent off from February 26 to March 5 by using the code SAVEBIG.

Hidden in a back room at every Anthropologie is a sale selection full of deeply discounted merchandise. And that's not even what makes the retailer one of the best places to find end-of-season savings; more often than not, the brand also has some sort of promotion going on offering a discount on top of the slashed sale prices already being offered. (At the time of writing, for instance, all sale items are an extra 40 percent off.)

9

As far as department stores go, Lord + Taylor is known as one of the best for finding discounts. Online, the store's clearance section is great for finding deeply discounted men's, women's, and kids' clothes and shoes—and sometimes there are even coupons and promo codes you can use on clearance items to make low prices even lower. At the time of writing, for instance, you could apply the code SMART to your cart to get 20 percent off almost all items, making this $80 Calvin Klein dress shirt $20 and this $298 BCBGMAXAZRIA maxi dress $71.50.

And even on the rare occasion that a sale isn't going on, you can still visit the Banana Republic Factory website for deals like women's pants for 40 percent off and men's dress shoes for 50 percent off.

11
Barnes & Noble

Though the absolute best way to save money on books is by getting a library membership, you can also add to your permanent collection in a cost-effective manner by shopping at Barnes & Noble. Some of the promotions going on through March include a buy two, get one free deal on all fiction books and up to 25 percent off select games—and that isn't even taking into account the myriad of coupons that the store sends to customers on its email list. At the time of writing, the bookstore was also hosting a #bookhaul blowout in which everything from new releases to B&N exclusives were 50 percent off.

Go on the J.Crew Factory website at any point in time and you're guaranteed to find at least one great sale going on. From February 27 through February 28, for instance, the J.Crew spinoff site offered an insane buy one, get one free deal on all pairs of pants and jeans. Through that promotion, customers were able to purchase two pairs of the popular Scalloped Hem Winnie Pant for a total of $62.50—less than the $70 retail value of just one pair. Sales on the J.Crew Factory site come and go quickly, though, so make sure you act fast when you see a good deal.

Evo

Retailers usually only put items on sale once they're out of season; in other words, the things on sale in 2019 are usually from 2017 and 2018. However, athletic retailer Evo is different. At the time this article was written, the majority of items marked down as part of the store's Last Chair Sale were the same items being sold throughout the 2018-2019 winter season—things like these Women's 2019 Volkl Yumi Skis and these Oakley Fall Line Googles. While Evo's discounts aren't quite as dramatic as other retailers', the sheer fact that they offer in-season stock at sale prices is enough to make them one of the best stores with spring markdowns.
