This Wheelchair User Shut Down a Hater in the Greatest Way Imaginable

The tweet spawned a small movement

activist and wheelchair user Annie Segarra claps back at offensive tweet.

Ken Jennings is a 43-year-old man who was once known for having a lengthy winning streak on "Jeopardy" in 2004. Since then, his primary claim to fame has been posting callous tweets to his 285,000 followers.

In May 2017, he made a mean joke about Barron Trump reportedly screaming after seeing an image of Kathy Griffin holding up Donald Trump's decapitated head. "Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster. He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking," he wrote.

In 2015, he attracted further attention after he posted a joke about the death of Daniel Fleetwood, a terminally ill young man and lifelong Star Wars fan who managed to achieve his dying wish to see The Force Awakens before it hit theaters, just days before he died.

"It can't be a good sign that every fan who has seen the new Star Wars movie died shortly thereafter," Jennings joked on the same morning his wife took to Facebook to share the devastating news.

And in September 2014, he posted a tweet, apropos of nothing, that managed to be extremely offensive to women with disabilities (and women in general).

Now, that tweet is making the rounds on the Internet again, after one social media user gave him the comeback he so badly deserved. Recently an Intersectional Activist and YouTuber named Annie Segarra posted a photo of herself in her wheelchair, with the following caption, "LRT: "Nothing sadder than a Cry about it, babe."

The tweet was widely applauded, and inspired other people to show just how wrong Jenning's demeaning and objectifying tweet really was, using the caption #HotPersonInaWheelchair.

After all, just because you're in a wheelchair, doesn't mean you can't still live your best life.

Which, let's be real, is more than Jennings can say for himself. For more inspiring stories in the digital world, check out This Woman's Master Class in Dealing with Jerks.
