Aries: The Descent (2005)

You're a go-getter who likes to follow your passions, and you won't let anyone slow you down. As the fearless leader of the zodiac, you tend to show off how confident and courageous you are by being the first to volunteer for something. And while this can get you ahead in life, it can also land you in some sticky situations.

For you, the worst thing is finding yourself the victim of your own bad choices, which is why The Descent is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. The film follows a group of friends on a routine cave diving expedition that quickly takes a horrible turn, as the explorers become trapped and hunted by an unknown beast. Packed with action, drama, betrayal, and an ending you won't see coming, it'll have you thinking twice about who you call your friends.

Taurus: The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

Those born under the sign of Taurus are generally cautious people, so you might think you're immune to the kind of things that occur in horror films. You're known for your calm composure and nerves of steel, so much so that you have a hard time feeling scared by movies.

However, if there's one thing that can get your blood pressure going, it's the thought of having your relaxing weekend getaway turned into a nightmare, which makes The Cabin in the Woods the top pick for Taurus. Without giving away too much, this movie follows a group of friends whose leisurely weekend in a remote cabin turns dark after they unleash a centuries-old evil onto the world. It's a fun and innovative twist on the classic cabin slasher film that will cause your heart to skip a beat (or two).

Geminis are very quick-witted, which means you're more a fan of a classic thriller than over-the-top gore. You like to put yourself in situations that challenge you both mentally and socially, so you find a lot of fulfillment in any movie that engages your intense curiosity.

Your ideal horror movie will drop you into an unexpected scenario and share just enough about what's going on to get your paranoia going. The Sixth Sense changed the psychological thriller game and contains one of the most unexpected twists in cinematic history. The film follows a lonely child psychologist adapting to a new way of life while helping out a client, but not everything is as it seems. This ending will leave you so shocked you'll immediately want to go back and watch the movie again.

Cancer: Carrie (1976)

Cancers are typically all about the home and family. You're the quintessential nurturer who finds a lot of joy in creating a comfortable and safe space for others to be themselves. But what happens when "mother knows best" takes a turn toward Mommie Dearest territory?

Nobody knows how to heal and hurt you quite like your own mom, which is what makes Carrie one of the scariest horror movies of them all. This chilling adaptation of a famous Stephen King novel follows the life of a withdrawn and sensitive teen who begins to develop psychic powers while dealing with abuse from both her peers and her overbearing mother. It all culminates in a shocking final scene that is truly horrifying and weirdly satisfying.

As the extrovert of the zodiac, you tend to attract attention wherever you go. You're fun, bubbly, and love the spotlight, even if it means causing a stir in the process. But you're not just good times and social connections; those born under the sign of Leo are also known for being incredibly brave and protective of their loved ones.

With all that in mind, there's no scary movie that embodies your fierce spirit like Scream. Following a group of seemingly normal teenagers who are being terrorized by a masked killer, this cult classic satirizes the clichés of the slasher genre and adds a hefty dose of macabre fun, dark humor, and serious jump scares that will have you laughing (and screaming) until your sides hurt.

Virgo: I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

Observant. Methodical. Savvy. If there's anyone who could survive the night in a slasher flick or find the culprit in a whodunit, it's you, Virgo. Your ability to read other people gives you an advantage; and your logical, practical, and systematic approach to solving problems is what sets you apart from your peers.

I Know What You Did Last Summer has everything you need to get a serious scare while introducing a mystery you'll love unraveling alongside the characters. Since you enjoy thinking critically about media and film, you'll appreciate that it's adapted from an original screenplay and features plenty of urban legends that add another layer to the plot. The movie also has a shocking ending where everything gets tied up in a nice, satisfying bow.

People born under this sign have the spirit of the Halloween season in their blood. While it's true that October 31st is strictly Scorpio territory, the weeks leading up to the scariest night of the year belong to you, Libra. While you're not as overtly spooky or mysterious as a Scorpio might be, there's definitely a more intense side to your personality that would surprise some.

In honor of your birthday month, it's only fitting that your scary movie selection is the original scream queen film Halloween. This horror classic tells the tale of Laurie, the sweet girl-next-door type who seems to have it all until she becomes the target of a psycho who's out for blood. Laurie uses her quick-thinking, intelligence, and super instincts to turn the tables on her killer and enact a sweet bit of revenge that is sure to appeal to Libra's love of justice.

Scorpio: Get Out (2017)

Scorpios tend to be the most difficult of the signs to get a read on. You're a cool customer who likes to keep people guessing what's really going on under your carefully maintained image. Despite your aloof attitude, though, you are extremely intense and emotional. Your intuitive side means you like to dig into the details until you learn what's really going on. Therefore, it takes a lot to scare you, so a psychological thriller is probably going to be the best fit.

Get Out is a satirical psychological horror movie that has many social themes and layers in its plot. The story follows Chris, who goes on a weekend getaway with his girlfriend to meet her family—and things start to feel off. Your love of unraveling mysteries and reading between the lines of dialog make this film a perfect match for your curious mind.

Sagittarians are among the most adventurous and optimistic in the zodiac. You love to put yourself in unexpected situations and follow your passions rather than the status quo. Your energy is big and bold, and you're not making any apologies for it.

For your taste in movies, you need a lot of action to keep you engaged, which is what makes the cult classic The Evil Dead a perfect fit. The film follows five college students vacationing in an isolated cabin in the woods and unwittingly unleashing an ancient evil force thirsty for destruction. Equal parts paranormal thriller, action movie, and side-splitting comedy, this supernatural horror film is a visual storytelling masterpiece that will keep you guessing until the credits roll.

Aquarians are about as nonconformist as they come. While others accept what they're told at face value, you like to ask why something works the way it does. And as the zodiac sign associated with humanism and technology, you're fascinated by how humanity can be its own worst enemy.

You'll love unraveling the mystery behind The Ring. This supernatural horror film features a string of bizarre deaths and an underground videotape at the center of it all that supposedly kills its victims after being watched. What makes this movie a perfect fit for you, Aquarius, is its quick pace and intelligent storytelling that will leave you guessing until the very end.

Pisces: Midsommar (2019)

Pisces are the artistic dreamers of the zodiac, prone to losing themselves in daydreams and fantasy worlds. You're also known for being among the most open and empathetic of the signs, which means you look for the best in others and can often be overly trusting and easily swayed.

Midsommar will make you think twice about who you can trust. The film follows Dani, a young woman who, in the wake of a family tragedy, visits a traditional midsummer festival in idyllic Sweden with a group of friends. Then, things start to take an unexpected turn. What makes this movie so unique is that it's set entirely during the day, which gives it a bright and cheery sheen over its more dark and twisted undertones. A surprise box-office hit with an even more shocking ending, this scary movie sets itself apart from other horror films in the best way possible.
