They've set a date. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Last month, it was announced the couple would be getting married in May, and the Queen had granted permission for the nuptials to take place at St. George's Chapel. This morning the Palace revealed the date.

The Chapel at Windsor Castle is a place of special significance to the couple because it's been reported they have spent some time there together. Harry and Meghan also chose the Windsor location because it's more low-key and personal than the grand Westminster Abbey, and it would be easier for his grandparents to attend the ceremony since they spend a get deal of time there.

One of the reasons Harry set a date so quickly with Meghan after a whirlwind 16 months of dating is because of the advanced age of his grandfather, Prince Philip, who is 96.

The couple also chose May so as not to overshadow the birth of William and Kate's third child which is due in April.

Prince William is expected to be his brother's best man, as Harry was for him when he married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.

Meghan has any number of celebrity friends like Serena Williams and Priyanka Chopra who could be bridesmaids, but she'll probably opt for one maid of honor who will likely be her college roommate.

The royal family has fully embraced Meghan into "The Firm." It was also just announced that she will be spending Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham, a privilege previously reserved only for royal spouses. And for more coverage of next year's royal wedding, here are 9 more facts we already know about it.
