He prefers to leave his wife in the dark!

The BBC's new documentary "Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70," which was released in celebration of Prince Charles' 70th birthday, is a treasure trove of personal tidbits about the heir to the throne's relationship with the rest of the royal family.

We learned that his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, believes Charles will always put "duty first" before his personal life. That comment is also reflected in comments made by his eldest son, Prince William, who said he wishes Charles would find more time to spend with his growing brood of grandchildren. But the best bit of royal dish far and away was the funny anecdote Prince Harry shared about how he inherited one particular habit from his father that drives his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex crazy.

Harry revealed he goes around turning lights off the second anyone leaves the room—something he learned from his environmentally-conscious father who is "a stickler" for not wasting electricity.

"And all of a sudden it becomes a habit and those small habit changes he's making, every single person can do," Harry said, explaining how he learned that turning out the lights can have a big impact. "And I think it's one of the key lessons that he taught us."

"That's now something that I'm obsessed with as well," said Harry. "My wife certainly goes, 'Well, why turn the lights off? It's dark. I go, 'We only need one light, we don't need, like, six,' and all of a sudden, it becomes a habit."

Keeping Meghan in the dark hasn't been all that difficult since Nottingham Cottage, the residence the couple has shared since last year, is a cozy two-bedroom home. Now that Baby Sussex is due this spring, the couple will likely be moving into larger and more luxurious digs—with a lot more light switches for Harry to monitor.

"It's a bit comical to think of Harry going from room to room switching off lights in a large country house," said my royal source. "But Prince Charles does it. Camilla's gotten used to it."

Evidently, Prince William also picked up the habit. He admits in the documentary, "I know, I've got serious OCD on light switches now, which is terrible." No word on whether this annoys his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
