Here's What The Queen is Giving Harry and Meghan as a Wedding Gift

Just as you'd expect, it's a royally perfect present.

What do you get soon-to-be newlywed royals who have everything?

If you're Queen Elizabeth, you stick to tradition and give something all the money in Britain can't buy—a royal title.

Just as she did with Prince William and Kate Middleton, Her Majesty will bestow Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with two new titles on their wedding day: one English and one to use while in Scotland.

William and Kate (who, by then, was Catherine) became the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge after walking down their wedding and also received the Scottish titles Earl and Countess of Strathearn. According to Harper's Bazaar UK, Harry and his American fiancée will known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex upon the occasion of their marriage and will also be awarded the Scottish title Earl and Countess of Ross, because it has historically been given to second royal sons.

Other titles currently available are the Duke and Duchess of Clarence and Buckingham, as the line has died out. But oddsmakers are going with Sussex and Strathearn.

Meghan will not be "Princess Meghan," because of the rules governing the British crown. Only those born into the royal family can use the title Prince or Princess, followed by their first name. Harry's late mother, Diana, was given the title Princess of Wales—a courtesy title held by the wife of the Prince of Wales—but she was never formally referred to as Princess Diana within the royal family for the same reason. Any children born to Harry and Meghan will be a lord or lady, not a prince or princess.

Hopefully, someone else will give the couple a new set of roasting pans for those romantic roast chicken dinners at home at Kensington Palace.

Harry and Meghan's official titles won't be announced until their wedding on May 19th at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, so we'll have to wait and see if the Queen has anything else in store for the couple who have already proven to be the Count and Countless of Cool in the hearts of royal watchers around the world.
