Susan Sarandon Says She'd Date a Woman or Man, But They Must Have This
"I don't care if it's a man or a woman," Susan Sarandon said. "For me, those things are just details."
Susan Sarandon has done a lot in her 74 years. She's an Oscar winner, a mother, a grandmother, an activist, and a businesswoman. But now, she's looking for something different out of life. On the latest episode of the podcast Divorced Not Dead, which was released on Mar. 10, Sarandon discussed a wide range of topics with host Caroline Stanbury (via People), including what she's looking for in a partner. "I don't care if it's a man or a woman. I mean, I'm open to all age, all color," she told Stanbury. "For me, those things are just details." But the person who catches Sarandon's eye does need to have a few specific qualities. She wants a partner who is adventurous.
Sarandon told Stanbury she wants someone who is "adventuresome," which is part of why she's not into dating people who are her age. "One of the problems of finding guys in my age bracket is that so many of them are just trying to preserve the status quo at this point and hold on for dear life," she said. "They're not open and curious and by fun, that's what I mean… to just be open."

And someone who is passionate about their work.
"They could be a school teacher, or they could be a writer, or they could be successful or not successful," she said of her future partner, as long as they're "passionate about what they do."

She wants someone who won't be intimidated by her success and fame.
The person who's dating Susan Sarandon must be someone who "owns themselves and isn't gonna be intimidated by people coming up on the street to you and saying, 'Oh my god, I love you,'" she said.
Sarandon touched on this in regards to her ex, Jonathan Bricklin, a semi-professional ping-pong player who she dated for five years and who was 30 years her junior. "My career was more established and was bigger and … after five years, he just couldn't deal with the anger that he had toward what seemed like everything was about me," she said of her ex (they split in 2015). "He wasn't developed enough."

And lastly, "someone who's been vaccinated for COVID."
Before she went into the aforementioned details, Sarandon admitted that "someone who's been vaccinated for COVID" is a must. "So we don't have to worry about that," she said with a laugh.
Ultimately, Sarandon said, "I think I'm pretty open to the idea of being with someone, but, you know, it certainly would take something extraordinary to share my medicine cabinet at this point."
