The Real Reason Why Prince William "Has Barely Spoken" to Prince Harry

It has to do with the publication of Prince Harry’s tell-all.

Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, once seemed to be as thick as thieves. At nearly every public event the brothers stood together, often smiling and laughing in front of the cameras. However, the overall mood between them seemed to change when Harry started dating his now-wife, Suits star Meghan Markle.

According to multiple reports, the tension between the two started after William and his wife, Kate Middleton, had some concerns about the speed and intensity of the relationship. As time went on, trouble between the brothers intensified, and Harry himself confessed that the two were at odds. Now, a new report claims that Prince William has been in very little contact with his younger brother in over a year – and this is why.

According to royal author Angela Levin, the palace is on "tenterhooks" waiting until publication date of the book, slated for a January 10, 2023 release. "They have lawyers ready to read it but they won't see it until it's out," she told The Sun. "If it's too bland it won't be worth the millions they've already paid him."

They Allegedly View the Title as a "Confrontational Attack"

"The very title demonstrates yet another confrontational attack on the family after claiming a desire for privacy," another source added to the outlet. "Palace lawyers will undoubtedly be on standby in the new year waiting to see what's in it. If Harry's previous allegations across numerous TV interviews are anything to go by, this will be nuclear. Regardless of the content, which will no doubt be explosive, there will be little chance of this acting as a vehicle to reconciliation for Harry and Meghan."

The Book Will Likely Examine Harry and William's Relationship

The book's description foreshadows a rivalry between the brothers: "It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother's coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is that story at last. With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief," it says.
