After all, shortly after the couple left came their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which included racism and mistreatment accusations against unnamed members of the family. Next came the announcement of Harry's tell-all memoir, followed by Meghan's explosive New York Magazine interview.

However, when Queen Elizabeth died, the unexpected happened: Both Harry and Meghan reunited with the family, including King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton at the funeral. According to The Daily Mail, King Charles invited his youngest son and his wife to spend the holidays, the first without his mother and Harry's grandmother, at Sandringham. However, "They are unlikely to attend," a source close to the King told the publication.

This will mark the first holiday the King will host. Guests who are expected include Prince William and Kate Middleton, who will be staying at Anmer Hall, and possibly Prince Andrew.

Sources added to The Mirror that relations between the couple and his family are near "rock bottom" after the title of the book was announced and that they had "no plans" to spend the holiday with in the UK. "This book could spell the end for any relationship Harry wants to have with his family, it's desperately sad," another source added. "Everyone is bracing themselves for yet another fraught and frantic period at the mercy of the Sussexes."
