The One Way Meghan Markle Has Already Changed Prince Harry

She's kicked off an American Revolution in the prince's once-staid wardrobe.

It turns out it's Prince Harry, not his fiancée Meghan Markle, who is getting a royal makeover.

Conventional wisdom said Markle, 36, who favors a California casual style and wore ripped jeans for her first official appearance with Harry, 33, at the Invictus Games in Toronto last year, would trade her laid-back look for a more tailored and traditional style a la Kate Middleton once she started accompanying Harry around London as a royal fiancée.

Instead, the prince seems to be adopting Meghan's sophisticated style and has eschewed his usual suits and ties for open-necked shirts paired with cashmere sweaters for appearances now that Meghan is at his side. The couple even seems to mirroring each other's choice of color in their wardrobe.

Last month, days after announcing their engagement, Harry and Meghan wore coordinating navy overcoats as they attended the Terrence Higgins Trust World AIDS Day charity fair in Nottingham.

On Tuesday, Harry's sartorial schooling by Meghan was clearly evident during a visit to the Reprezent 107.3 FM radio station in Brixton where the couple talked about gender equality. Like his fiancée, he chose layered pieces in chic neutral tones. Harry donned a well-cut olive jacket and grey sweater that complemented Meghan's oatmeal colored tweed coat and matching scarf. Both wore black pants. Meghan's high-waist, wide-legged style, and messy bun (!) sent the Twittersphere into overdrive and her coat sold out hours after the soon-to-be royal was photographed in it.

So far, it's Meghan's sophisticated fashion sense that's ruled over her prince as evidenced by the couple's official engagement photos—one of which looked straight out of the pages of a magazine and featured Meghan in a $75,000 couture dress.

Meghan's influence over Harry's style is the first indication of how the American actress is having an impact on reshaping the image of the usual staid royals.

There is one accessory that Meghan and Harry have embraced his getting engaged—whenever they're photographed together both are never without matching beaming smiles. And for more on the happy couple's wardrobe, check out the 10 Style Rules All Royals Must Follow.
