Lisa Kudrow Reveals the "Friends" Cast's Adorable Pre-Show Tradition
They really were always there for one another.
Friends may have ended back in 2004, but it has experienced a second life with younger viewers through Netflix. Perhaps that's why former members of the cast have been sharing hilarious backstage details in recent interviews.
For example, last year, Matt LeBlance revealed that the reason Joey was wearing a sling on his arm for some of Season 3 is because he actually dislocated his arm while racing Chandler to a chair in the episode "The One Where No One's Ready." And back in April, he revealed that when Joey eats everyone's leftover disaster trifle in "The One Where Ross Got High," LeBlanc didn't know until he watched the blooper reel that he had eaten some that David Schwimmer had spit out in the scene.
Now, Lisa Kudrow has shared an incredibly heartwarming detail that shows just how close the Friends cast was in real life.
"The six of us would do a huddle backstage and just say, 'All right, have a good show, love you love you love you love you,' " Kudrow told People.
And when Kudrow was pregnant with her son, Julian Murray, in season 4 and 5 (which was written into the show as Phoebe acting as a surrogate mother giving birth to triplets for her brother and his wife), they included him in the tradition.
"When I was pregnant, then they would say, 'Have a great show, love you love you—love you, little Julian!' Cause we knew it was a boy and that was his name. So sweet, they included my little fetus in the huddle."
So sweet indeed. No wonder the tears that they cried in the last scene of the show turned out to be real.
