Idris Elba has been the fan favorite to take over as James Bond for years now, and a recent survey even found that 63 percent of Americans believe the handsome Brit should be the one to assume the iconic role once Daniel Craig has completed the next two films.

But Elba himself has been coy on the subject. In a January 2018 interview with VarietyElba said yet again that while a black Bond was not in the works, he did feel it was time to do "something different" with the secret agent. "Are we interested in having a Bond character other than being a male?" he asked. "Could be a woman, could be a black woman, could be a white woman, but I think, that character, everybody would like to see it have—do something different with it, why not?"

But then, in August, he tweeted a selfie with the caption, "my name's Elba, Idris Elba," sending everyone into a frenzy of speculation.

Now, he seems to be teasing fans with yet another hint that he will be Bond after all. Last night, at the Golden Globes, he snapped this hilarious photo of him sitting beside Daniel Craig, and captioned it "awks…" (which is short for "awkward").

Naturally, everyone freaked out, especially because this is the first time the two have met as far as we know.

And, naturally, the puns rolled in.

Let's give particular credit to this one.
