Here's Serena Williams' Best Wedding Day Advice for Meghan Markle
Don't forget to eat the cake, Meghan!
Back in November, tennis pro Serena Williams married Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian in a star-studded, fairytale wedding in New Orleans (if you haven't seen the stunning photos, you need to change that immediately). So, as one of Meghan Markle's BFFs, she's perfectly poised to give the royal bride-to-be some great tips for her own upcoming nuptials.
In a new interview with Good Morning America, Williams stressed the importance of soaking it all in and not getting caught up in the frenzy of the big day. "I just think it's so important to enjoy the moment," she said. "And eat the cake—I didn't get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun."
This is particularly good advice for the royal wedding, since the lemon elderflower cake she and Prince Harry have chosen for the day is supposed to be out of this world.
Williams also added how elated she is for the happy couple. "I'm obviously super happy for her. She's such a great girl and she is incredibly nice and I couldn't be happier for her."
When asked if she'll be attending the event of the year, however, Williams was frustratingly coy.
"I don't know, I think it's during one of the tournaments, I'll see if I can make it," she said.
That's what you get for having famous friends.
