This Is the State People Fled From Most Due to COVID
Data shows COVID caused more people living here to uproot than anywhere else.

When COVID-19 hit, everyone's lives across the United States changed. In addition to the obvious health dangers the virus posed, working in cramped spaces and remote learning had Americans nationwide struggling to spend 24/7 at home. As a result, some felt the need to relocate for a fresh start somewhere new. In fact, according to a recent survey conducted by moving company United Van Lines found that, seemingly due to COVID, moving interest in Sept. 2020 was notably higher than it was the same time last year—with a 32 percent increase.
The United Van Lines survey, which was conducted between March and Aug. 2020, revealed that COVID-19 influenced people in certain locations specifically to move. According to the research, the percent of moves in which COVID-19 was a contributing factor were highest in one place in particular: Washington, D.C., at 37.5 percent.
