Harry Potter Theme Park Goes Crazy for Christmas, Potterheads Rejoice
Universal Studios really went to town (er, Hogsmeade) this year.
If you're a Harry Potter fan, chances are you've fantasized about spending Christmas at Hogwarts—eating dinner in The Great Hall under the auspice of a twinkling tree, walking a snowy path to Hogsmeade for a warm mug of Butterbeer, opening presents up in the Gryffindor Common Room, and waltzing with your date at the Yule Ball.
But if your acceptance letter to Hogwarts got lost in the mail, you can't get any closer to the real thing than spending the holidays at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida, or Hollywood, California.
You'll be able to walk among snowcapped cottages that transport you straight to Hogsmeade, complete with actual snowfall in the evenings.
There's hot butterbeer for sale, which is the ultimate cozy Christmas drink.
The shops are all decorated with festive wreaths and garlands.
There are details in every window that send a thrill through anyone who romanticizes this time of year, like frosted glass.
There are plenty of decorations to take home.
And holiday music courtesy of the a cappella Frog Choir.
This year, however, the biggest draw is the new light show at Hogwarts Castle, which features both the Yule Ball and Fred and George's Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
Whether it's by broomstick, Floo Powder, or plane, it's worth a visit. And for more Harry Potter magic in real life, check out this extremely touching, viral Harry Potter-themed proposal.
