"The Walking Dead" Star Christian Serratos Posts Photo Ahead of Season 10
With the premiere of the second half of Season 10 upon us, fans are speculating about Rosita's fate.
There's been a lot of buzz around Christian Serratos ever since it was confirmed that she'd be playing Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in the upcoming Netflix series Selena. But fans of AMC's hit show The Walking Dead know her best as Rosita Espinosa—an epic survivor who has no problem wielding a weapon against the undead. With the second half of Season 10 upon us—it premieres on Feb. 23—Serratos posted a sweet selfie with her co-star, Alanna Masterson, known to Walking Dead fans as Tara Chambler. (Spoilers to follow!)
"I love you and miss you so much," Masterson wrote in the comments, presumably because her character was killed off in the first half of Season 10.
As for what's in store for Rosita, well, the teaser trailer for the new season of The Walking Dead gives us some insight.
There's a truly heart-stopping moment, in which you see a zombie standing over the crib of Rosita's baby, Coco. Given that she's still grieving the loss of her baby's father, Siddiq (Avi Nash), it seems like things are not going to get any easier for the new mom.
Some fans were also surprised by a shot in the trailer in which it looks like Rosita and Eugene (Josh McDermitt) are about to kiss, given that she's currently with Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) and has previously told Eugene that it's not gonna happen.
Since the two were a popular item in the comic book series on which the show is based, however, it's not out of the question. But the AMC show has already spared Rosita the death that she met in the comics, which means some fans are worried that a possible romance between the two might also foreshadow her ultimate undoing.
And the fact that Serratos has been confirmed as Selena for the upcoming Netflix series also has some people questioning if Serratos is going to leave The Walking Dead due to time constraints and scheduling conflicts. If she does, she'll be leaving behind a character she—and fans—have loved for years.
"I'm similar to [Rosita] in the way that she is very headstrong, which in my case is a nice way of saying stubborn," Serratos told AMC.com in 2014. "But she's very brave. She's the type of gal who knows what she wants and what she's doing, but I think she's a lot more brave than I am. She'd be my best friend."
Time will tell what's in store for Rosita on The Walking Dead and what the future holds for Serratos in Hollywood!
