Celebrity Siblings Who Avoid the Spotlight

Almost every famous family has one (or two)—a sibling living a totally normal life.

There are a lot of famous families in Hollywood. For years, second generations and siblings have been taking on film, TV, music, and the great big world of celebrity together. There are the Fondas, the Baldwins, the Kardashians…the list goes on and on. But some of the most high-profile clans include siblings who've avoided the spotlight and gone in a different direction than their recognizable relatives.

The Osbournes starred in a reality TV series about their family, but the show was missing a kid. Elizabeth Olsen followed in older sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's footsteps, while their brother was just living his own quiet life. The Jonas Brothers' entire career is built around the fact that they're siblings—meanwhile, a fourth Jonas brother has been hanging out in the background this whole time.

So read on to find out more about 14 celebrity siblings who haven't chased fame. And for star pairs who've kept their nuptials quiet, check out Celebrity Couples Who Had Top-Secret Weddings.

When The Osbournes premiered on MTV in 2002, viewers knew the family as Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and their two kids, Jack and Kelly. But, while she wasn't part of the popular reality series, the couple have a third child, their eldest, Aimee Osbourne. Aimee, who is now 37, is a musician and performs with her band ARO. She talked about her decision not to be on the show in a recent interview with Q104.3 New York.

"I had grown up around having a pretty well known dad anyway, and I always really valued my privacy within that family," Aimee said. "[Doing the show] didn't really line up with what I saw my future as."

But, brother James Middleton has kept a much lower profile.

James, however, has a unique job: He started a greeting card and personalized marshmallow company called Boomf. He's also a big fan of dogs, as you can see on his Instagram, and has worked with the organization Pets as Therapy.

Pop star Britney Spears and actor and singer Jamie Lynn Spears have an older brother named Bryan Spears. Bryan has worked as a producer on a couple of Jamie Lynn's projects, including her Nickelodeon series Zoey 101. And while he generally stays out of the spotlight, he recently commented on the "Free Britney" social media movement, in which fans are asking that Britney be removed from the conservatorship that she has been placed under. He said that Britney would like the conservatorship to end, but understands why it was put in place.

"Whether someone's coming in peace to help or coming in with an attitude, having someone constantly tell you to do something has got to be frustrating," Bryan said on the As NOT Seen on TV podcast.

From two famous brothers with non-famous sisters, we move on to two celebrity sisters with non-celeb brothers. Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara and House of Cards star Kate Mara's sisterly bond is well-known, but they also have two other siblings, Daniel and Conor Mara. It's hard to find much information about either of them (or photos!), but Conor's 2018 wedding was featured on Martha Stewart Weddings. Daniel's 2004 wedding was announced in the New York Times, and at that point he was a law student. What we do know is that all the Mara siblings come from a wealthy family thanks to their ties to the NFL.
