Prince Harry Made History During Baby Sussex's First Photo Call

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are changing things up once again!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle introduced their son at Windsor Castle on Wednesday morning, giving the world their first glimpse at Baby Sussex. It was a very different royal photo call than royals watchers have come to expect: Instead of introducing their son hours after the baby was born on the hospital steps, the couple met one interviewer and a few photographers inside St. George's Hall at Windsor Castle two days after the birth.

The tradition-bending royal couple also made history by opting to have Harry hold Baby Sussex in his arms when the newborn met the press for the first time. It was the first time in the history of the British royal family that a father held his child in his arms during a photo call, while the child's mother looked on. Harry had to be asked to turn the baby slightly so the camera could get a look at the newborn.

At Wednesday's photo call, Meghan did most of the talking. She spoke first, describing parenthood by saying, "It's magic. It's pretty amazing. I have the two best guys in the world so I'm really happy." She added that the baby is sleeping well and "has the sweetest temperament."

The visibly nervous couple stepped out in front of the cameras while on their way to introduce Baby Sussex to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. "We just bumped into the Duke," said Meghan, who noted that her mother, Doria Ragland, was in Windsor with the couple.

When asked who the baby takes after, Meghan said they are still "trying to figure that out." The prince added, "It's only been two, two and a half days," before joking that his son has "a little bit of facial hair."

Harry has clearly taken to fatherhood quickly, telling the press: "Parenting is amazing. We're thrilled to have our own little bundle of joy."

The couple's body language mirrored that of their engagement photo call. When it was over, Meghan put her arm on Harry's back as they walked away from the cameras.

Though the interview is sure to partially satiate royals fans, we still have to wait to find out Baby Sussex's name. The interviewer did not ask when the royal couple plans to share that news with the public. And for more on Prince Harry as a father, check out 15 Reasons Prince Harry Is Going to Be a Great Dad.
