ATM Mistakenly Dispenses $100 Bills, Causes Anarchy
It was a Christmas miracle for the citizens of Houston!
On Monday, an area in Houston, Texas, had to be shut down and temporarily guarded after a Bank of America ATM began giving out $100 bills instead of $10 ones by mistake. The bank issued a statement on the glitch, saying, "This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills," adding that they have "resolved the matter."
Apparently, it all started at around 11pm on Sunday night, when a man went to withdraw a $20 bill from the ATM, and got $100 instead. Because we now live by the law #picsoritdidnthappen, he posted about this lucky accident on social media, and soon the location was swarming with customers hoping to score some free cash. Fights inevitably broke out.

The bank refused to disclose how much extra money was withdrawn during the two hours before the police arrived to scatter the crowds. If it had demanded the money back, the customers would have be forced to either return it or be charged with theft.
"Bottom line is if you receive money that you know you aren't due, you've got to return it," Sgt. Joshua Nowick, Harris County Sheriff's Office, Financial Crimes Unit, said in a Facebook video. "I definitely would not be spending that money right now."
Luckily for them, the bank is letting them keep the money, so it's an early Christmas miracle.
