| Q: |
Now that Battlestar Galactica is in its final season, what professional goals do you hope to accomplish next? |
| |
|
| A: |
I would like to write and produce as well as act. I want to experience everything our media can offer and create some stories and things people would like to see. |
| |
|
| Q: |
How’d you acquire the American accent and how long did it take? |
| |
|
| A: |
After four years, the accent has become second nature. It’s kind of like the costume coming on. It’s another accoutrement that an actor uses. Doing an accent is hard if you’re not trained. I have been listening to my old man, who’s from Detroit, all my life. And American culture is ubiquitous. I’m also a linguist; I speak French and Italian, so I think my ear is well tuned. |
| |
|
| Q: |
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be? |
| |
|
|
A:
|
For a while I wanted to go into academia. That was one option. My folks were trying desperately to introduce me to people in the foreign office encouraging me to become a diplomat. Maybe politics. There is something about the situation in the world now that interests me. I don’t see many politicians able to speak freely. I think there will be a new spate who will in the years to come.

|
| Q: |
What books have you had time to read lately? |
| |
|
| A: |
John Perkins’ Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, Noam Chomsky, stuff to challenge the comfort zone. |
| |
|
| Q: |
If you had a month of free time, what would be your ideal vacation? |
| |
|
| A: |
I would like to take my wife and go off to Africa. We honeymooned on Zanzibar. It’s the symbolic birthplace of man. There’s something so primal about it. I’d love to explore it further. And now that we have three kids, we never get much time to ourselves. At this point I’m looking forward to Club Med and taking the kids to a place where they can be free too. |

| Q: |
Thanks for your time.

| |
|
| A: |
My pleasure. |
